Two Palestinians arrested at checkpoint after M-16 rifle found in car
Israeli Border Police in the West Bank arrested two 20-year-old Palestinian residents of al-Bireh, a Palestinian city adjacent to Ramallah, on Saturday after the officers found a hidden M-16 rifle in their vehicle during a routine security check.
The two young men arrived at the Tapuach checkpoint in the West Bank and during a routine security search Border Police officers found a bullet under the backseat of the vehicle. One of the two young men tried to flee the scene and was arrested after a chase that included gun shots being fired into the air.
After further inspection of the car, the M-16 rifle was found and the two Palestinian men were arrested for further investigation.
