Lebanon officials: Israel will not allow battles in Syria to spill over
The Lebanese newspaper An-Nahar quoted security officials as saying that "Israel will not allow battles on the Syrian side to spill over into villages in south Lebanon." While there was no cause for concern, according to the report, the army and Hezbollah were taking precautionary measures.
The newspaper also reported that Hezbollah was following events in south Lebanon in the wake of the Islamic State's attempt to expand towards the Syrian part of the Golan Heights. A security official said Hezbollah was "calm regarding the situation in south Lebanon, and the Israelis know it."
