Holot dentention facility could close next month over court order

The state submitted a response on Friday to the High Court of Justice in protest of an interim court order that won't allow authorities to detain new asylum seekers until a petition filed by human rights organizations against an amendment to the law against infiltration is discussed at court.

The state warned that unless the interim order is lifted, the Holot detention facility will be closed next month.

The State further claimed that "the petition will lead to blocking the Knesset's ability to give the government continuous measures to deal with the serious and significant consequences of the phenomenon of illegal infiltration on Israeli society and economy."
