Palestinians want activation of Arab 'safety net' following tax freeze
Following Israel’s decision to freeze tax funds, the Palestinian Authority is demanding to put into action a $100 million per month safety net promised by the Arab League nations, according to Mahmoud Abbas’s spokesman, Nabil Abu Rudeineh.
Rudeineh said security services employees, among other PA officials, will soon join the ranks of workers receiving no salary. Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah is discussing the issue as he visits Saudi Arabia.
