Radical imam Abu Hamza al-Masri is scheduled to appear in US District Court in Manhattan at 10 AM Friday to be sentenced for a terrorism conviction.
For years, 56-year-old Abu Hamza delivered incendiary sermons at a London mosque, using words that US and UK authorities say helped inspire a generation of militants, including British would-be shoe bomber Richard Reid.
He has one final chance to convince a US judge that he should not spend the rest of his life in prison, eight months after a federal jury in New York convicted him of terrorism charges.
