Security official arrested on suspicion of shooting Palestinian boy in West Bank
A senior security official from a settlement in the southern Hebron Hills has been arrested on suspicion of opening fire on a 14-year-old Palestinian boy on Saturday.
The man was to appear in Jerusalem Magistrate's Court on Monday for a remand extension hearing.
An investigation into the incident showed that several Palestinian children had been throwing stones at residents at the entrance to the settlement. According to the security officer, he drove the children away by shouting at them, but did not open fire. The Palestinians said, however, that the boy had been shot in the hand and sustained light wounds.
