IN PHOTOS: Thousands hit hot spots for Rosh Hashana

Israelis take advantage of Jewish New Year and resulting vacation time from work to visit national parks, ostriches and beaches.

Rosh Hashana isn't just about family meals and well wishes for friends - it's also a rare vacation from work for most Israelis, during which the sky is the limit.

 

 

In proper Israeli spirit, thousands took to national parks and other destinations across the county Monday to take advantage of their time off. Here are just a few of them enjoying a day of family vacation:
