Israelis flock to nature for Sukkot break

More than 100,000 visit natural reserves, parks and gardens; favorite destinations include Nahal Snir Nature Reserve, Iyun Nature Reserve, Banias Nature Reserve and Hurshat Tal National Park.

The day after the family Sukkot dinner more than 100,000 Israelis traveled to parks, gardens, forests and nature reserves to enjoy the holiday's pleasant weather.

 

 

The Kinneret Municipal Association's control room reported that 30,000 holidaymakers visited the shores of the Sea of Galilee starting Sunday.

The union pointed out that booths were set up on various beaches for the bathers' pleasure, and that they were prepared to absorb the thousands of vacationers expected to visit the beaches during the intermediate days of Sukkot.

Moti Yehezkel from Raanana recounted that his family arrived at the Sea of Galilee in the morning. "We found a wonderful, very pleasant atmosphere. We all enjoyed ourselves and I recommend traveling here. My children and grandchildren had so much fun, and I've heard similar things from other families."

About 100,000 travelers visited nature reserves and national parks starting Monday morning. There was a very lively movement of travelers in the north, the favorite destinations being Nahal Snir Nature Reserve, Iyun Nature Reserve, Banias Nature Reserve and Hurshat Tal National Park.

 

Jewish National Fund (JNF) forester rangers reported tens of thousands of travelers visiting parks, forests and JNF sites throughout the country. Thousands of cyclists were said to have visited the sites as well. 2,500 vacationers went to various campgrounds.

 

More than 8,000 visited Caesarea National Park's hippodrome. Many travelers also visited Caesarea National Park, Masada National Park, Ashkelon National Park and Hof Dor Bonim Nature Reserve.
