IDF officer who broke AFP photographer's equipment removed from duties
An IDF officer from the Givati Brigade who broke the cameras of an AFP photographer in Beit Furik, near Nablus, at the end of last week has been dismissed from his duties, following an internal investigation that found the soldier acted in a manner inconsistent with expected standards. The investigation was conducted by Col. Yaron Finkelman, the head of the Givati Brigade.
At a hearing for the officer on Thursday it was acknowledged that the officer had failed in his duties and the head of the Southern Command, Gen. Udi Ben Moha, accepted the recommendation to remove him from his post.
