Wintery weather hits Israel again
A short-lived but powerful winter storm struck Israel on Friday, bringing with it torrential rain and tragic consequences after two people were swept away by the floods and killed.
The storm went away as quickly as it had begun on Saturday afternoon and the following week is expected to have calmer weather.
Mount Hermon was closed to visitors overnight on Friday due to the accumulation of snow, but re-opened Saturday.
Nazareth experienced the most rainfall, with 120 millimeters falling over the Galilee town in under 24 hours. Haifa received 24 millimeters of rain, with Tel Aviv and Jerusalem getting 18 millimeters and 31 millimeters respectively.
