The wife of a criminal who testified against a crime boss was shot to death in her car in front of her three children on Sderot Yerushalayim Street in Be'er Sheva on Monday evening. Police said the shooting was likely criminal in nature.
A witness told Ynet the children, who were unharmed, told him "an Arab shot her and ran away."
Large number of police forces arrived at the scene and were searching for the shooter and his weapon.
Neighbors who heard the gunfire called police and Magen David Adom paramedics, who evacuated the woman, around 30 years old, to the Soroka Medical Center in Be'er Sheva in serious condition, suffering wounds to her upper body. She was declared dead at the hospital.
Eight members of the woman's family arrived at the hospital, where they received the news she had passed away. They cried out in agony, pounded on doors, kicked objects and fell to the floor, while saying "it can't be," "Mom, mom," "say it's not true," "what have they done to us?"
One of the family members tried to calm another, telling her "Be strong now for the children."
