Police deployed in Negev
The police announced late Wednesday night that they had downgraded the level of security threat alerts amid fears in the Negev region, which caused security forces to set up roadblocks throughout the area.
The police were deployed throughout the day in unusual numbers and security forces were dispatched along the roads. Since however, they have announced that the situation has returned to normality.

After a prolonged period of relative calm in the wave of Palestinian terror which gripped Israel in recent months, a Palestinian stabbed an IDF soldier near Nablus on Wednesday afternoon before being shot and killed by the soldier who himself was left in light condition.
The incident began with Palestinians hurling stones from a travelling vehicle on a section of the highway between Kedumim and Yitzhar, hitting the windshield of a military vehicle and prompting troops from the IDF's Nahal Brigade to chase after them.
The south of Israel also received a reminder of fragile sense of security. On Sunday afternoon a Code Red rocket alert was sounded in Sderot and Sha'ar Hanegev just before 2:30pm on Sunday. Shortly afterwards, an explosion was heard, and a rocket was found between two residential houses in Sderot. There were no injuries or damage, though forces were immediately dispatched to the area.
