The firework display took place in Edenbridge, marking Bonfire Night—also referred to as Guy Fawkes Night—which falls each year on November 5, and when effigies of the famous Gunpowder-Plot conspirator are traditionally burned in effigy.
An 11-meter wooden model of Trump clad in boxers bearing stereotypical caricatures of Mexicans while clutching the head of his political opponent Hillary Clinton.
The burning ceremony was accompanied by a spectacular firework exhibit, the planner of which hoped that Trump would see the humorous side to such a spectacle. "I think he would be quietly amused” said Frank Shepherd, the artist responsible for designing the giant Trump.
Also incinerated at the display were models of Saddam Hussein, Tony and Cherie Blair, former British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and cyclist Lance Armstrong who confessed to using illicit substances and stripped of seven awards won during the Tour de France, among others.
The man who became associated with the words ‘you’re fired’ on his hit show The Apprentice broadcast by NBC during the last decade, found himself this year in Britain, on the receiving end with his giant model literally going up in flames.
