Protective Edge report to be released in full
A new report on the situation which led to the ground offensive during Operation Protective Edge is set to be released by the State Comptroller soon.
The Knesset State Control Committee has unanimously voted to release the full report regarding the conduct of the cabinet ministers during Operation Protective Edge.
The report is set to be released after the comptroller’s report on tunnels, and will be released in its entirety.
The Committee also decided that some of the report must be redacted before it gets released, including IDF and Hamas combat doctrine and specific IDF technologies.

Committee officials said that redacting these various sentences and lines won’t take away from the overall substance of the document. Along with the tunnels report will be printed a report on issues with international law which arose during Protective Edge.
Chairwoman of the Committee MK Karin Elharar (Yesh Atid) said following the discussion that “these (redactions) are minor changes made with the aim of preserving the safety of the state, and nothing more. There was a discussion on the topic in which several of the committee members participated in. I’m happy that the state comptroller will be able to publish the document for the benefit of the citizens of Israel and for the families of those who fell. We all need to know what happened (during the operation).”
According to her, the publication date of the report was determined by both the state comptroller and the state comptroller committee. “We aren’t talking about a timetable. It’s important to note that this the first report. There are still two others which the comptroller is working on,” MK Elharar said.
The report is expected to expose what happened in the months and years that led up to the Operation.
