Dichter: No one can properly function under investigation

Likud MK and former Shin Bet Chief Avi Dichter claims it's impossible that Netanyahu's investigations do not bother him or detract from his performance as prime minister. In addition, Dichter announces that in the future, he will run for Likud leadership.

Avi Dichter stated Saturday that a prime minister cannot possibly function as usual if he is being investigated, claiming that those who say differently are simply "not telling the truth."

On the question of whether the investigations make it difficult for Netanyahu, the former head of the Shin Bet replied, "He is not a computer. Try to imagine yourself functioning while under investigation, it doesn't matter if you're a businessman or a minister or anyone else. I find it hard to believe that investigations do not interfere."

Dichter was then asked whether we should be concerned that the prime minister is tied up over the issue of the investigations instead of running the country, and he replied in the affirmative. "It's not up to him. It is up to the attorney general if he is to be investigated."

Dichter also announced that in the future, he will run for Likud leadership.

"In the next elections, there'll be no primaries and Netanyahu will lead Likud. And I believe and hope that we win. But in the future, I will run since I entered politics to make a change, influence, lead and put my experience to use," said Dichter.
