Bad weather to dampen Passover vacations

With tens of thousands of Israelis and tourists traveling around the country and enjoying the holiday vacation, looming bad weather is set to rain on everyone's parade.

With the country celebrating the Passover holiday and many people on vacation from work and school, inclement weather is threatening to derail the plans of many.

Rain, thunderstorms, high winds and hail are expected throughout the country Wednesday night. Furthermore, in southern and eastern valleys, high rains are arousing fears of flash floods.

In Eilat, incoming stormy weather and strong southern winds are projecting high waves and coastal flooding. In light of the circumstances, Eilat municipal authorities are notifying travelers and beachgoers.

In addition to Eilat, according to the Water Authority, potential flash floods due to rainfall are also possible in the southern Arava and the Judean Desert.

Due to the updated forecasts, the Be'er Sheva municipality cancelled a children's festival and mass traffic disruptions in the south are expected due to flood warnings.
