Jordan: convicted rapists will no longer escape punishment by marrying their victims
Jordan's government abolished on Sunday an amendment which exempted convicted rapists from punishment should they marry their victim for at least three years.
According to Jordanian news sources, the controversial amendment was abolished following efforts by authorities to "increase the rule of law" in the country.
