Public college lectures to strike on 1st day of academic year, affecting 55,000 students

Some 2,000 lecturers from the senior staff of 17 public colleges protest the conditions of their employment and will not start the school year Sunday morning.

The strike will affect some 55,000 students.

Lecturer at Safed Academic College recounts "degrading treatment of the Ministry of Finance," while the Minisry of Finance stated, "We submitted a fair proposal for a compromise."
