Azaria's regiment commander, reprimanded lieutenant-colonel promoted
IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot approved a series of appointment, some of which had already been approved by Minister of Defense Avigdor Lieberman as well.
Two appointments yet to be approved by Lieberman are promoting Lt.-Col. David Shapira—who served as Elor Azaria's regiment commander—to commander of the Binyamin Territorial Brigade and promoting Lt.-Col. Neria Yeshurun—who was reprimanded for firing a "volley of respect" at a Gaza building during Operation Protective Edge—to colonel and the role of Yiftach Brigade commander.
