Ovadia Yosef's son given 5-month suspended sentence

The Tel Aviv Magistrates' Court sentenced Rabbi Avraham Yosef to a five-month suspended sentence and to pay NIS 75,000 in restitution after promoting the "Beit Yosef" kashrut certificate while he was Holon's municipal rabbi and obliged business owners interested in acquiring a kashrut certificate to only work with certain kashrut inspectors.

Yosef, the son of former Sephardic Chief Rabbi Ovadia Yosef, was convicted of two breach of trust offenses.
