ADL to PM Netanyahu: Israel must protect asylum seekers
The Anti-Defamation League contacted Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in an open letter and beseeched him to find a humanitarian solution to the plight of asylum seekers in Israel.
The organization also called on the premier to reconsider canceling the agreement reached with the United Nations to solve the issue.
ADL Chairman Jonathan Greenblatt tweeted, "Our shared Jewish tradition teaches us to welcome and protect the stranger. During this season when we remember that in the days of our ancestors, we too crossed the Sinai in search of freedom, we cannot give up ensuring the safety of those fleeing persecution."
