Syrian regime raids rebels from air despite possible truce announcement
The Syrian regime resumed air raids Sunday on the city of Douma to push a rebel group out of its last stronghold near Damascus, according to the Syrian Observatory of Human Rights.
The aerial bombardment continued despite an announcement by the rebel group in question, Jaich al-Islam, and a committee in charge of negotiations of a possible truce and a resumption of talks on the fate of Douma, the last city the regime has yet to retake in the vast region of Eastern Ghouta.
