Netanyahu, Edelstein meet in effort to resolve Independence Day standoff
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein on Sunday morning in an effort to resolve the crisis over the Independence Day torch-lighting ceremony.
Edelstein has threatened not attend the ceremony, marking Israel's 70th Independence Day, if the prime minister speaks at the event.
During their meeting, the two reportedly discussed the option that Netanyahu would light a torch, but not make a speech.
