Police strike 300,000 criminal records in anticipation of Independence Day

In anticipation of Israel's 70th Independence Day, the police will strike 300,000 criminal records of civilians. As part of the move, cases closed due to lack of evidence and interest to the public will be automatically stricken from offenders' records.

Head of the police's Criminal Information Section Elisha Kogan presented the criteria for cases to be automatically stricken in the near future, being persons with up to two closed cases and with no prior convictions or open cases.
