Navy names 4 missile ships
A navy committee headed by Navy Commander Eli Sharvit, chose the names of the four new Saar 6 missile boats being built in Germany and designed to protect Israel's economic waters. The names chosen are: Shield, Courage, Independence and Victory.
The new ships will include advanced combat systems such as the Iron Dome, Barak 8 missiles, electronic warfare systems, cyber defense and the ability to carry a C-HAWK helicopter. The four ships are expected to arrive by the beginning of 2021, and the first will arrive at the end of 2019.
