PMO's director-general announces he is leaving position

The Prime Minister's Office's Director-General Eli Groner notified Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Monday he intends to leave his position.

"I'd like to thank the prime minister for the opportunity he has given to me to lead significant moves for Israel's economy and society," Groner said.

Netanyahu praised Groner's work, saying, "The moves he led on my behalf, such as lowering regulations and the formulation of the gas agreement will have an effect on Israel's economy for many years to come."

Groner will leave his position at the end of the Knesset's summer session.
