Palestinians protest in Ramallah against PA's Gaza sanctions

Over 500 Palestinian protesters gathered in Ramallah in the West Bank on Saturday to demand the lifting of sanctions imposed by the Palestinian Authority on the Gaza Strip, according to an AFP journalist.

"Cancel the sanctions" against Gaza residents, shouted protesters at a rally organized by a group of opposition political groups and NGOs.

Palestinian security forces did not use force, unlike what happened on June 13 when hundreds of demonstrators were dispersed in Ramallah outside the Palestinian Authority headquarters with stun grenades and tear gas.

As a gesture of goodwill, the police distributed Palestinian flags to the protesters.
