Police officer implicated in fatal shooting of Solomon Tekah to be released

The off duty policeman who shot Solomon Tekah to death two weeks ago, is expected to be released from house arrest Monday while the investigation into the shooting continues.

The fatal shooting of 19 year old Tekah prompted mass demonstrations all over the country by Israelis of Ethiopian origin.

A special Knesset plenum session on racism towards this community will be held Monday and a demonstration is expected outside the prime ministers' office.
