Hamas and Islamic Jihad claim coordination in fight against Israel
The military wings of the Islamic Jihad and Hamas issued a statement saying their cooperation is continuing at the highest levels.
"We will not accept efforts by the occupation to resume their cowardly policy of targeted killings," the statement says.
Since the beginning of the latest cycle of fighting on Tuesday, Hamas has refrained from firing rockets into Israeli communities in what appears to be an effort to prevent further escalation that could lead to all-out war.
