I have now listened to a week's worth of streamed TV news from France's first television channel and not once have the riots been even inferred to have an Islamic content or motivation to them, journalists and interveiwed members of the public referring to the perpetrators simply as "voyoux" or "yobs". These are not people who have left Arab lands to exploit freedoms they do not have at home. Immigration to France from Arab countries is now very small and limited mainly to family reunion. They are now third and fourth generation Arabs who have failed, over fifty years and more, to integrate into French society and adopt Republican values. The riots of 1968 were Marxist inspired and called for the inclusion of an alienated leftwing working class to be integrated into the Fifth Republic's quasi-aristocratic constitution - something that did not in fact happen until the Socialists came to power over a decade later. The political establishment bought off the Marxists who then allowed millions of Arabs and Moslems into the country in furtherance of a policy of multi-culturalism that the country was ill-minded to pursue. The end result? 6 million disaffected Moslems, ignored by the body-politic and who are now on the rampage because they do not wish to be French. France is at best a psuedo democracy where successive and alternate governments of both Left and Right have done little to end the country's endemic corruption, economic ills and democratic deficit. The French themselves remain repugnantly racist toward both Jew and Moslem alike.
