Israel reasonably expected that bombing civilian areas with raid after raid of multi-ton US ordinance designed for miltary warfare would kill people. Lots of people. It is at a minumim guilty of negligence and most probably of a war crime. 4- Israel indeed has the capability to guide precision attacks but hasnot demonstraed this during the conflict - given the mouning civilian death toll. This is clear indication of knowingly targeting civilians. If Israel as a state was tried in a cour of international law it would be an open and shut guilty verdict. Israel is a pariah state and is a textbook example of how to identify human rights violations. Where are your recommendations and concern for the humane treatment of Palestinians living in Lebanon? For many years I read and accepted the accusation holding Ariel Sharon responsible for the slaughter of the Palestinian civilians residing in the Sabra and Shatilla camps. I became interested in the Middle East and started reading about the history of the area. Imagine my surprise to learn that the civilians in those camps were slaughtered by Lebanese Arabs (Phalangists), who remain nameless in any readily available historical accounts. Why do I never find condemnation of butchers who committed the actual slaughter? Is there a written resource explaining the details of this attack, naming the militia leaders who participated and where they are today? Failing to be forthcoming with the horrible details of this incident makes me question the credibility of the current verbal attacks. Are Palestinians held in high regard by your country today? Are they encouraged to engage in higher education, become professionals, acquire a higher standard of living and if born there become citizens? A knowledgeable answer to my question would be welcomed, no propaganda please!
