If I were Jerusalem's police at the moment, I would try appeasing both factions by canceling both the Haredi parade and the gay one. I would transfer the gay parade to Tel-Aviv, where people would not be as offended. Calling fellow jews cows and threatening to kill human beings is in its own sense beast like behavior. Both the gays and the Haredim are extremly offending each other. If the gays want to be accepted, then why fuel a violent backlash from the religous community? Those of us who keep up learning the portion of the week know that the generation of Noah was not known only because of intense robbery but also because of its sexual abnormalities( i.e. bestiality, homosexuality etc.). The lesson we can learn is that each family must make its home an ARK by infusing it with the correct values of our tradition and pitching it with material that can withstand the evils of our time. What a waste of my hard-earned money. Both sides! The Haredi community is acting like a beast by being so intolerant. What a crazy & essentially childish idea to parade animals. You ever hear the expression " people who live in glass houses" - many would consider the Haredi life-style less than normal & I'm being polite. They are hardly a group that should criticise anyone elses life-style, especially since their life-style is by choice which is not the case for gays. The parade is not the problem - the Haredim are the ones creating a problem with their threats. Their reaction is irrational, not based on any scientific understanding of human sexuality, & pandering to prejudice to gain influence. And it is shameful to enlist the support of Muslim & Christian clerics, people who are hardly an example of tolerance towards Jews. This is not Iran or Saudi Arabia & we don't need a "religious police" - secular Israelis already put up with a lot of crap because of Haredi interests.
