121. Re: #92
Eric ,   Toronto, Canada   (01.29.07)
Predictable comment. Just like the West wisened up to Iraq's supposed WMDs and its plan to launch terrorist strikes on USA, right? Moron. "Strike first"
122. peace Abdullah?
mike ,   fayetteville, nc   (01.29.07)
Peace as defined by the terrorists is by conversion to Islam, submission to Islam, or death as an infidel and you know it. These conditions are unacceptable. The west will win because we love life more than the terrorists love the culture of death.
123. #121 Eric
Mike ,   Fayetteville, NC   (01.29.07)
Here's a fact for you Eric, Iraq DID have WMD's..This is well documented. Remember the Kurds? And what is your source for anybody saying there were terrorists attacks planned from Iraq??..Nobody said that. We are at war with terrorism and Iraq is just one part of that war. The war with terrorism will be a long war. This was said at the beginning and it is still the case. The peace at any cost crowd has a very short memory and they demonstrate again how they do not have the intestinal fortiude to do what it takes to win.
124. Response to Tariq (Eric) in Toronto
Joe ,   USA   (01.29.07)
"Right after Mohammed's migration, treaties were signed with various jewish tribes. Most of the treaties were violated, not by the muslims, but by the jews. Again, a historical fact.. feel free to look it up" Wrong. Muslim recognize that Mohammed signed peace treatises for the sole purpose of disarming them. Once they put their guard down, he attacked them. Why? They did nothing to him. I'm sure it was as obvious then as it is today that the Koran is a ripoff of the Bible and their rejection of Mohammed bothered him. "I have yet to see where Muslims "continue to enslave people" though." Sudan, Mauritania, foreign workers throughout the Middle East, and even a Saudi couple in Colorado recently. Only YOU don't know this.
125. not all islamic aggression is equal
octinomos ,   san diego, USA   (01.29.07)
Terrorism should never be granted the status of "legitimate technique to fight a war". We must differentiate between proper and improper use of force. Iraqis fighting American invaders (soldiers) is proper use of force. Palestinians bombing women and children over land which was legitimately obtained by Israel is improper and evil.
126. #87 God's Law
Mike ,   Fayetteville, NC   (01.29.07)
Sorry Sandy, you can't get your peace at any price hiding behind the ten commandments. The hebrew and greek for this commandment is thou shalt not murder; the killing of innocents. How do you think the walls of Jericho came down by God's command, or David overcame Goliath, or the exodus from Egypt where the power of God killed the forces of Pharoh. Sounds like the people of Israel, KIng David, and Moses are all bound for hell according to your logic. Maybe you need to learn some law before you attempt to invoke it.
127. #125 ah but all terrorism IS equal
Mike ,   Fayetteville,NC USA   (01.29.07)
Nobody ever granted any legitmacy to terrorism, so your point there is equal. However, we are at war against terrorism in case you have forgotten. We are not at war with Iraq. The LEGITMATE Iraqi forces are fighting with us. The same forces created by the duly elected and LEGITIMATE Iraqi govenment. The only invaders are terrorists coming across the borders from Syria, Iran, and other nations.
128. What Wars are Fought Over
Len ,   Texas USA   (01.29.07)
All wars are fought for only 1 of 2 reasons: 1. To acquire resource or 2. To defend resource THis is no different --- all you have to do is trace the money trail - it leads you to those who make the decisions. ONce you know who they are and you know their business affiliations then you know the real reasons behind the decision to go to war
129. To #55
Chesty ,   Port Washington   (01.29.07)
You have to to reach deeper in history my friend. The Christian Crusades were in direct response to the Muslim Crusades that were trying to conquer Europe by way of Spain. That's your reality check, most of the world probably already knows!
130. WW3
JAmes ,   Orlando, USA   (01.29.07)
I has begun and will continue and will escalate as long politicians are allowed to influence the warriors. Until "WE THE PEOPLE" I want those who would have me dead, die first, we will be in WW3.
131. Response to #123
Jerry ,   Canada   (01.29.07)
Your comments sound alot like Republican party talking points. Remember the Kurds???? Wake up, that occured in the 80's, over 20 years ago. Using your logic we should attack Germany. After all remember WWI.........they used mustard gas. Speaking of WMD.....I think a nuclear bomb qualifies as one, and although they refuse to admit it, Israel is in possesion of approx. 200 nuclear bombs. But we don't know for sure, since Israel is NOT a signatory of the Non-Proliferation Treat, along with North Korea, India and Pakistan. Why does Israel, a "peaceful nation" feel that they need to have such a arsenal of nuclear weapons??
132. WW3
Colin Caissie ,   Maine, USA   (01.29.07)
As I have heard it, the Neoconservatives and the old Cold War guys refer to the Cold war as WW3, and we are in fact looking at WW4. Does the Cold War qualify as WW3? Think about it. CSC
133. Response to #5
Colin Caissie ,   M   (01.29.07)
Jihad, Rapture, it's all the same principle to use religious and national sentiment for the political gain of the few in power. When has it been different, and when will it be different? When the U.N. Security Council, and veto power at the U.N. is abolished. CSC
134. Israel Nukes
Jamie W. ,   Louisville, KY   (01.29.07)
Some claim that Israel has nukes - I am sure they do. I say to those who hate Israel - you are lucky...lucky that Israel is unwilling to use nukes against terrorists and other enemies. Beware though, if you back Israel into a corner or threaten her existence, you will be sorry.
135. COINCIDENCES? I think not
Sharpin-chitown ,   ChicagoUSA   (01.29.07)
" From time to time there is a terrorist attack in Madrid, London and New York and then everything stays the same." And the security for the 911 airports, the London Tube and the Madrid train stations was an ISRAELI FIRM. Gee what a coincidence. By way of deception thou shall wage war right boys?
136. We get what we deserve.
Niklos ,   Chicago   (01.29.07)
We get what we deserve.
137. Nukes
Gary Zuber ,   Saratoga, USA   (01.29.07)
Yes, Israel has nukes, but if Iran nukes Israel, all Palestinians will be toast. In the end, Iran does not care about Palestinians or Arabs.
138. WW3
David ,   USA   (01.29.07)
WW 3 is among us. The US and allies need to wake up and understand what is going on in the Islamic World. There goal is to force sharia law throughout the entire world, convert everyone "Infedel's" to muslims, and kill anyone who does not convert or live by sharia law. I for one would never convert. Islam to me is a lost religion. First of all, christianity has been around thousands of years before the Prophet Muhammad fell and bumped his head and created islam. These countries in the middle east are uneducated and for what education they have is only composed of teachings from the koran. They are raised there whole life for a career in terrorism and spreading islam. Thats it!!! I believe the liberals and leftist in the country have no idea of what the US is facing or are to concerned about promoting thier own agenda. A nuclear bomb detonating in the USA is going to happen. It is just a matter of time. When it does happen, the middle east will be destroyed. The USA and allies will bomb the &*^%$ out of them. We will make that region into a parking lot. If a nuke goes of in the USA, you will see the recruitment for the military increase a lot. Americans will unite and kick some ass. :)
139. Re: #123
Eric ,   Toronto, Canada   (01.29.07)
The fact that Iraq DID have them at one point could hardly matter less. Was Iraq harbouring terrorists? No. Was Iraq a threat to the USA? No.. not until Iraq's sovreignity was violated by the American-led invasion. What type of terrorism is being is being fought with in Iraq anyways? I'll tell you: the kind that is referred to as freedom fighting. The type that occurs when one country invades another and forces it to submit to its will. So you have unsophisticated Iraqis who believe that even extreme measures are necessary to repel invaders.. if that means IEDs, suicide bombings.. hey what the heck? Such is war.
140. WWIII
Randy ,   USA   (01.29.07)
The question is not has WWIII begun, the Muslims have said many times they have declared war on the rest of the world, the question is, are we listening? The answer is NO.
141. Morons
Roger ,   U.S.A.   (01.29.07)
You are a simplistic moron. If you will look closely at who is promoting this situation you will see that it is not the Girl Scouts or a local Convent of Catholic Nuns. Even the sick liberal news here in the United States can't cover up the fact that it is radical Muslums that are creating the mayhem around the globe. When I hear of any Christians or Jews who are STARTING conflicts, then I will change my mind. In the mean time lets call a spade a spade, not a spoon.
142. Re: #124
Eric ,   Toronto, Canada   (01.29.07)
Ah yes. The witty comeback by implying I'm lying about my name. Funny. Which Muslim recognizes that the treaties signed by Mohammed were for the sole purpose of disarming "them" (whoever them is supposed to be; you don't exactly make that clear). Fact: only one jewish tribe adhered to the terms of the treaty which, if I remember correctly, were to defend one another in the event of an attack upon another person, and that neither side would attack or assist an attack on Medina or on one of it's allies. In the event of an attack, Muslims and the tribes (whichever applicable) were to assist one another in repelling this. So when the Meccans finally did attack.. what happens? Right.
143. Islam
Roger ,   U.S.A.   (01.29.07)
Brooke, you are a visionary. May the light of truth never be extinguished.
144. Re: #124
Eric ,   Toronto, Canada   (01.29.07)
Ah a witty comeback, Joe, trying to imply I'm lying about my name. Predictable, and pathetic. You just haven't studied enough history have you? The treaties signed were for peace. And the peace was not broken by Muslims, but by first the Meccans, and then by various (not all) jewish tribes. Mind you, some of them actually honoured their commitments. As per Mohammed, the reason for Islam's existence was quite simply because God's word had not stayed true to the form it had been revealed in. As a matter of fact, the first compilation of the Bible occured after a significant period of time after Christ's passing. In that time, enough was changed in the bible to suit various people and their interests. In short, you have a document which has been altered in enough places and ways so as to be a totally different one to the one that was "revealed". Hence the reason for the existence of the Koran and the similarities. You call the Koran a ripoff; feel free to believe that. By the way, historically, in the first treaty signed by the jewish tribes and Mohammed included freedom of religion for the jewish tribes, stating that the jews were free to pursue their own religion. Obviously the jews not accepting Mohammed didn't bother him enough, seeing as he didn't launch any war of agression until he was attacked. Pearl harbour, anyone? Do you call the Mexicans who cross over to the US and work at extremely poor wages and live in conditions you wouldn't deem appropriate for your own self as slaves? Because no one is forcing the foreign workers to work in the Middle East - they are there by choice. Where's the slavery bit?
145. Re: #125
Eric ,   Toronto, Canada   (01.29.07)
I agree with you, sir. Which is why I don't condone suicide attacks launched by Palestine against Israel. Islamic rules of engagement specifically stipulate that in time of war, women, children, old men, people who surrender, and people who take refuge inside a mosque may not be harmed. So when a Palestinian suicide bombers takes out innocent people in a marketplace in Israel, I condemn it. It is hardly Islamic, nor humane.
146. Re: #129
Eric ,   Toronto, Canada   (01.29.07)
Once again.. what happened to the entire turn the other cheek approach taught by Jesus?
147. Reply to #83/NEVER AGAIN
Ann Thompson ,   Grand Rapids, MI   (01.29.07)
I am not Jewish, but I also have read Treblinka, Holocaust, Auzwicz, etc. More non-jews should read several "holocaust stories" to prevent history from repeating itself. You do not have to be a clever person to figure out Iran wants to wipe all the Jews and Americans from the FACE OF THE MAP! Listen to the words of AmademmaJERK.
148. RE: WWIII
John B ,   tucson USA   (01.29.07)
Mossad is 100% right The only thing he did not touch on was the fact that 50% or more of the American people mainly democrats are downright stupid! These folks are the ones that are blind to the facts. Had we had this kind of ignorance in WWII we would have never won.
149. It is in mans nature to push the button!

150. # 23
gordon ,   Miramichi NB Can   (01.29.07)
The real cause of this conflict can be traced to the time of Abraham. Abraham had two sons, Ishmael and Isaac. Ishmael was born of Hagar, Sarah's maid servant, and Abraham. Isaac, however, the child of God's promise, was born of Sarah and Abraham. Though, Ishmael was the first born, he was not the vessel through which Abraham was to receive God's blessing. God said, "but my covenant I will establish with Isaac, whom Sarah shall bear..." Gen 17:21 Since then Ishmael (the father of the Arabs) have been jealous believing, that being the first born, they should have rec'd the blessing. However, it is God Who made the choice, not man. The real cause of this conflict is Ishmael's refusal to accept God's word.
