So called rabbi? gay parade rabbi maybe. deport and ban them from Israel.
62. Michael 55
Margaret   (04.27.07)
Have you ever heard the expression the "worst of people comes out on the internet"? I agree some of the ynet talkbacks sound real ugly and aggressive, but the Arabs and Israelis have been at war for almost 50 years. The Arabs have done alot of horrible things to innocent Israel civilians and the murder of Israeli civilians is pretty much condoned by most of Palestinian and Arab society. Some Israelis are getting sick of being blamed for not having nice, postive feelings towards people who want to destroy their country and their families. The internet is one of the few places they can vent about this. Also, compared to some of the things Palestinians and other Arabs say about Jews on their messageboards this is nothing. I can assure you of that.
63. SETTLERS ON WELFARE
(04.27.07)
these morons OCCUPYING AND ILLEGALLY STEALING PALESTINIANS LAND- need to be jailed---- -pronto-= they are an embarassment to the good jews.
64. To the angry scathing replies...
Bret ,   Tel-Aviv, Israel   (04.27.07)
Israel spends a lot of money on the settlements, unnecessarily so....to the tone of almost 10 billion dollars a year (coming from right-wing organizations, donations from WZO and JAZO, American government and Israeli taxes) if you add up the subsidies to the settlers, the highways, the housing projects, the tax subsidies, the money each month settlers get....and the soldiers defending them, if we would just administer' the land with IDF instead of occupuing the land with settlers, we would save a lot of lives and money It is disgusting we cannot even afford to take care of our own yet provide so much to the settlers who stain Israel's image internationally and make Israeli's ashamed of their governments policies...it is rediculous how you can say Israel wants peace when it keeps appropriating land and building...the Israeli High Court states that appropriating land is only legal if it constitutes a security threat and if it is for TEMPORARY purposes... How can we be a Jewish state for the Jewish people when we don't even take care our most marginalized , 700,000 Jewish children live in poverty and don't receive proper nutrition, women make 70% of what men make (Jewish women to Jewish men), and almost 100,000 holocaust survivors cannot afford to live decently (many choosing between medication or food) Get a clue...this is a true failure in our system and brings shame to me as a Jew and an Israeli PS: Check the facts, they are all correct PPS: Settlers, how good is a country if we erupt WWIII and the land of Israel is destroyed by military warfare...we wont have a land to live on if we continue this excursion...I love Israel and I want to have a Jewish Israel and have it last as long as it can....but we cannot see the practicality in expelling 4 million Arabs from West Bank and Gaza...they wont move, you see that with terror attacks and their international support for their cause
65. another note
Bret ,   Tel-Aviv Israel   (04.27.07)
If we wanted to get all of Israel we should have done so in 48 or 67 when we presumably could have justified this action, now with the international attention and the years and years into the conflict, it is inpractical and in reality impossible given the vehement opposition response from the Arab nations and the Palestinians themselves...I am not saying give up, just be pragmatic and realistic, If G-d wants us to have that land it would be through peaceful terms according to Jewish values and morality if we are really the 'light unto all nations' ..long gone are the days of when we came in and slaughtered the Caananite's
66. David L (25) on "incitement messages"
sk ,   USA   (04.27.07)
One thing I've learned from Israeli online forums is that someone who uses the word "incitement" doesn't understand free speech. Of course, many ideas "incite"; the point of free speech isn't to induce stupor. I'm glad you expressed yourself so fully, though, and that Ynet didn't ax you because of your use of a swear word. You have shown your foolishness very clearly.
67. 4 Reasons why this story is 100% BS
Kyle ,   Southpark, CO, USA   (04.27.07)
1. "fields surrounding the village of Bnei Na'im, Bnai Na'im is a Hebrew name, therefore this is a Jewish village. 2. 'to help residents with their plowing" If the residents are Jewish (as is indicated by the village having a Jewish name and not an Arabic name) the leftists were not there to "help" but rather to trespass. 3. Jerusalem Post reports that the leftists were there "in order to assist Palestinian shepherds tending to their sheep." Sheep and plowed fields, which is it? Or were the leftists trampling Jewish fields with Palestinian sheep? Leftists can't even be consistent in their lies. 4. "Both Palestinians and international activists present at the scene confirmed the incident. " What's this BOTH? Palestinians and their leftist shills LIE AS USUAL. No statement from the "settlers"? This is crap propaganda, not news reporting.
68. #64 Bret well said

69. to margaret
michael ,   jerusalem   (04.27.07)
and that is exactly what I would like American taxpaying citizens to hear, because they don't.... the Israelis who "sound real ugly and aggressive." Unfortunately, reasonable Palestinian and Israeli society is held hostage, each by their own radical minority. Americans understand, at least on a superficial level, the problems of the radicalized Palestinian minority....we are fed a steady diet of on MSM. But Americans don't have a clue about the radical Israeli minority. (See Talkback 64)
70. Bret (64, 65), only an intellectual could be so foolish.
sk ,   USA   (04.27.07)
"Israel spends a lot of money on the settlements, ... 10 billion" No idea where you got that figure, but 10 billion (only partly from taxes anyway) is cheap for keeping large parts of Israel Jewish and making sure that Israel's "waist" remains as wide as possible. There is no other way to keep land under Jewish influence than to settle on it. Every Jew who moves away allows a Muslim terrorist to take his place. You evict the Jews from Samaria, and you will be bombed in Tel Aviv. With CERTAINTY. "If we wanted to get all of Israel we should have done so in 48 or 67 when we presumably could have justified this action..." Unfortunately, short-sighted leftists who made arguments similar to yours were in control. The consequences should be obvious. If you don't understand them yet, move to Sderot and wait for inspiration. "...I am not saying give up, just be pragmatic and realistic, If G-d wants us to have that land it would be through peaceful terms according to Jewish values and morality if we are really the 'light unto all nations' " Now don't try to get religious on me. We both know that you do not hyphenate "God" anywhere but here. You are simply wrong in equating "peaceful means" with "Jewish values." Sometimes war is appropriate; sometimes it is not. What's more, even "peaceful" means are not being used now. Allowing Pals to cross into Israel to work simply feeds the beast. No doubt you support such "humanitarian" gestures. As for "pragmatism," that is what I am espousing here. Israel needs to be larger; its population cannot concentrated in two easy-to-hit places; murderous neighbors have to be pushed back. News flash for you: if Israel made the case for Greater Israel, Americans would agree, and the Euros will deal with anyone for a buck. Your self-deception and self-flagellation have produced your problem. Learn it already.
71. Thanks for your research, Kyle (67). Pallywood, Part MXXX

to verify that people's opinion conform to political correctness, but I, for one, don't give a rat's ass if the likes of you think I'm a racist.
73. michel from jerusalem #69-have you been sleeping that long??
susan ,   israel   (04.28.07)

76. #64 - Not "your own"?
Tracy W   (04.28.07)
You say: "It is disgusting we cannot even afford to take care of our own yet provide so much to the settlers who stain Israel's image internationally and make Israeli's ashamed of their governments policies". It sounds as if you have disowned the Jews of Judea and Samaria. I know you don't mean that but that's how it reads. Do you realize the damage done to Israel by this antagonism among sections of the Jewish population? And don't you value the land of Israel enough to support those who work to protect it? Most nations spend what appears to be unreasonable amounts of money in order to help those who live in less accessible areas of the country or in important border areas. Israel is so tiny that every inch of territory recovered after thousands of years is precious. Much more should be done to protect and assist those people who are heroically working the land. It's not a land to be occupied by armed forces but by Jews living normal lives. And Bret, it's not by giving in that you will see peace in your country. That much has been learned. Nothing will satisfy the Arabs except your complete evacuation from the Middle East. Didn't they attack you in 67, and many times before that, when Israel did not yet control the territories? Just ask them. What do they want? Arabs want an Arab Israel. Nothing less. And don't feel ashamed of the settlers. The only ones against the settlers are the Arabs and the clueless and biased international Left. Those who know of the sacrifices of the residents of Judea and Samaria feel very proud of them. And as far as Arabs moving to their lands, it would not be easy but it's not impossible. There are many examples of relocation due to incompatibility between peoples and due to historical factors. And you have history on your side. It's your land. I just read your second TB. Bret, unfortunately there may be another war. Next time, don't listen to the international community's calls for restraint. Don't let them intimidate you. They don't have your best interests in mind. Finally, I know you are not entirely "practical" or "realistic", or you wouldn't be in Israel. It takes ideals and dreams to live there.
77. #67 Kyle - THANKS!
(04.28.07)
78. The hateful Pali Arabs who do the honor killings
Steve ,   USA   (04.28.07)
and terrorize the innocent civilians should be the last creatures in the world to call anyone "racist".
79. #38 Please Explain
Sam Weinstein ,   USA   (04.28.07)
First of all as a software engineer if they have the money and the lawyers to do that then I am sure they can but it would take years through the legal systems to get names. Another point i we can be traced so can the otherside. Third well I won't get into that security feature. 4th the US consitution allows for freedom of expression.
80. Brett.... $10 Billion ?!?!?!?!?
Joe Sittizen ,   Jerusalem   (04.28.07)
As Brett says "Check the facts". So Brett....where did you dig up this number from? Please post a URL or two to show us. $10 billion bucks is a LOT of moolah. Where's it all going to? Show me, cuz I can't see anything close to $10 bigabucks being dumped into the west bank settlements. That translates to what, $40 million per settlement? If our GDP is $166 billion (according to the CIA), then you claim that 6 % of the GDP is going to settlements? Ok...show me, cuz at this point I think your number is waaaay overinflated.
81. So I guess the censor didn't like my comment to michael.
sk ,   USA   (04.28.07)
OK, I'm a flexible fellow. I'll rephrase. michael, you are a guest in Israel. As an American, I am deeply offended that you misuse your position to report to your fellow leftist-wacko family and friends about all the so-called evils of Israelis. It is, moreover, just dishonest to assert that the mainstream media in the US are pro-Israel and unsympathetic to the Pals. My criticism of Israelis is that they lack the confidence to send you and your ISM buddies packing.
82. The leftists in Israel are evil..horrible creatures who
William ,   USA   (04.28.07)
bring Israel nothing but pain and problems.

stephen terravecchia ,   jerusalem   (04.28.07)
Susan, I guess you have been sleeping. The last Congressional election in the US, the Evangelicals were soundly defeated, they have lost a lot of influence even within the Republican party. In fact, there is no "evangelical" Presidential candidate in the Republican party. The current President is as lame as a lame duck can be....so you are a passenger on a sinking "evangelical" ship. SK, your "moral indignation" is, as Vittorio De Sica said two percent moral, forty-eight percent indignation, and fifty percent envy.
86. #85 Check the numbers
Jonno ,   Oz   (04.28.07)
The party in the Whiethouse as a general rule looses 45 seats and upwards in the midterms. In the first midterm Bush's party gained seats in both houses and the 2nd mid term only lost 30 seats. To keep up with the others the Republicans shopuld have lost in the order of 70 seats. Uder the circumstances it would seem that the American people in fact has endorsed republican policy.
87. to jonno
mike ,   jeruslaem   (04.28.07)
you really do live in Oz.
88. Sounds like a threat from 84 to anyone right of center
John Carter ,   Canada   (04.28.07)
Sounds like a threat from 84 to anyone right of center?
89. stephen (85): part of the problem.
sk ,   USA   (04.28.07)
"SK, your "moral indignation" is, as Vittorio De Sica said two percent moral, forty-eight percent indignation, and fifty percent envy. " Huh? Steven, was your need to cite De Sica and thus puff yourself up so overwhelming that you were willing to misrepresent my TB to satisfy it? I have no idea what "envy" has to do with anything. But maybe you share Michael's moral compass, along with his penchant for lower-case names. Well bred people do not go to a foreign country and then proceed to impugn the decency of that country's citizens. You do not address my point that America's MSM are hardly "pro-Israel," except in comparison with, say, the BBC. The fact is that the average American is much more pro-Israel than the average MSM outlet. Surely then MSM could not be driving the average American's positive feelings toward Israel. Duh.
90. Actually, mike (87), jonno does not live in Oz.
sk ,   USA   (04.28.07)
A passionate minority has great sway in a democracy (as can be seen in the contortions that Muslims have caused in Europe). It is silly to say that the Evangelicals, who are a huge minority, have suddenly lost all their influence. You fail to understand the nature of a midterm election. We'll know more when the American National Election Study data sets come out for this election.
