61. Mike #52: How about a Jewish literal interpretation?
Allen ,   USA   (05.13.07)
"It will come about in that day that I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples; all who lift it will be severely injured. And all the nations of the earth will be gathered against it. " Zech chapter 12
62. #1 SUCH A BLATANT LIE AND MISINFORMATION
(05.13.07)
listen, you come here spewing your ignorant venum, but not once have you ever made an intelligent remark or an informed onbe. i suggest you hit the newspapers and history books if you wish to participate. there are many embassies in jerusalem as we speak. so, get informed before you make yourself sound rediculous
63. Jerusalem- Zec 12 is a Divine Herald...
ben ,   singapore   (05.13.07)
I put it this way .." jerusalem is like a weighty stone that will cut or lacerate ANYONE who attempts to dislodge it. G-d lodged Jerusalem and the Children Of Yisrael are the air to the throne of the City of David. No one can DISLODGE Jerusalem. Jerusalem is the center of Hashem's heavenly kingdom. Look at Isaiah 8 :4 which affirms that jerusalem ia aprominent place in stting up the Kingdom of G-d. Zec 12 is both canonical text for Jews and a Divine Herald. You CANT TOUCH JERUSALEM NOR YOU CAN TAKE HER AWAY FROM THE JEWS - In MY G-d I TRUST !THIS IS THE TORAH TRUTH . I PROCLAIM AGAIN and AGAIN from the HOUSE OF YISRAEL : - ) DIVINE EDICT, DIVINE HERALD : - )
64. to NO 11
daniel ,   TEl Aviv   (05.13.07)
Sorry, you are completly wrong. There is not a single embassy in Jerusalem. Those are just consulates and some of them are actually diplomatic representation to the PA:-)
65. Back Stabbers Tell the US
Sam Weinstein ,   USA   (05.13.07)
Tell the US and the Europeans they have two years to transfer their embassy or they must leave Israel. This prooves they are nothing but backstabbers. The No Good Kadima / labor Goverment is responsible for not having any guts.
66. Viva Israel ! A LIGHT to the Nations-Hope of the Free World!
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (05.13.07)
67. mike #45
Keren ,   SP-now in Israel   (05.13.07)
Why do you live here then? Are you mazoquist? I am presently in Yerushalaim and I find this one of the most beatifull cities I have ever seen(I saw many,many...). Even east Yerushalaim have very good buildings and houses and we clearly see that arabs thrive here, unfortunatelly at the expenses of the Jews. When Jews came, Jerusalem was left to flies, but now it is beatiful and pleasant and thats why you are here.Go to live in Ramallah,or Gaza, why not ,mike? They fit better to your spirit.
68. ISRAEL SHOULD MARCH IN GERMANY TO SHOW 'EM CANT BEAT ISRAEL
AM YISRAEL CHAI ,   ..............DACON9   (05.13.07)
69. Question. For anyone.
Steve ,   USA   (05.13.07)
President Bush campaigned on the pledge he would move America's ambassador to Jerusalem upon taking office. He reneged as did Clinton. Has the U.S. ever honored Jerusalem Day celebrations?
70. US Promises are worthless
Sam Weinstein ,   USA   (05.13.07)
President Bush said he would move the embassy to Jerusalem as the Israeli capital as part of his election promise. He lied as usual. What good is it to even negotiate a peace agreement with the Palis. Their promises are worthless.
71. #65 sam, its a deal
mke ,   jerusalem   (05.13.07)
sam, i can agree ...as long as we take our 2.4 billion a year with us....and once you give the 2 year ultimatum, (lets make it 6 months instead)...and we will take our security council veto with us....deal? Why are you surprised by this decision, none of these countries have even put their embassies in Jerusalem???!!!! You act shocked! so shocked!
72. literal interpreation
mike ,   jerusalem   (05.13.07)
Sorry Allen, I would rather US foreign policy be based on a Marvel comic than the literal reading of the holy books of Christian, Jewish, or Islamic faiths or any other religious texts you can quote back to me.
73. #66 is "viva" a privilege or a curse ?
(05.13.07)
74. #11 means USA has 4 embassies & a dozen consulates in Jru'm
(05.13.07)
75. THE TRUTH
Boruch N. Hoffinger ,   Brooklyn NY   (05.13.07)
B"H The TRUTH is that many countries fear loss of Arab oil -- they act out of fear. The Israeli 'government' has admitted to the Lubavitcher Rebbe (MH"M) that they are afraid of the Arabs and the world. That's why they tend to be lenient to them when there is obvious wrongdoing First the Israelis/Jews should becoome friends to themselves and then others might become our friends.
76. #3 100% agree with you, there is
observer   (05.13.07)
a lot of Brits having dual citizenship
77. This means nothing - mountain outofa molehill
JPS ,   Efrat   (05.13.07)
Every year there are celebrations in Jerusalem and embassies regularly don't send reps because Israel insists on west J-town only, and the embassies want to go to both east and west. Likewise, Israel boycotts some ceremonies that foreign governments hold only in east Jerusalem. Is this a big deal? No, it's standard stupid politics. The one and only issue is that the two sides have to sit down and hammer out a mutual peace deal. Everything else is hot air.
78. JPS #77: You are soooo transparent and wrong....
Steve ,   USA   (05.13.07)
Your operative language: "The one and only issue is that the two sides have to sit down and hammer out a mutual peace deal." "Mutual peace deal?" You are with Israel's enemies. Give me a break! You want to destroy the Jewish state. You are no freind of mine, that's for certain. You live in Efrat? You ought to be ashamed of yourself. You are with Israel's enemies, plain and simple. Even in Efrat we have these people who want to destroy Israel. Even in Efrat?
79. #71 Mike
Sam Weinstein ,   USA   (05.13.07)
Ok but realize then since all the aid was spent at US companies in the US for defense there will be a lot of unemployed US workers. Israel will have to use nukes if her military and vital economic interest are threaten, and I will say ok kick out the Palis into Jordan.
80. Jerusalem Day
ray ,   usa   (05.13.07)
As talkback #36 says..."It is time to brind back a military parade on Jerusalem Day"..Certainly Israel needs to restore pride in the MILITARY..Certsainly it needs to work toward redeeming it's lost military credibility.. This woukd be a good step in that direction.
81. Just CELEBRATE!! ENJOY!
CC ,   USA   (05.13.07)
Europe is not even master in his own house. How can you expect a body that is hold in bondage by a new occupier to participate in the unification of Jerusalem. They do not even understand history. Enjoy the festivities and make it a wonderful day to be remembered. Kol HaKavod!
82. to keren #67
mike ,   jerusalem   (05.13.07)
Read my post again...anything I said about it not being beautiful? What I did say was that it was celarly not "unified" but rather divided, fearful, and hateful (I should have added bitter) on both sides of the Green line and your response did much to confirm those observations. I have witnessed more holiness in the poorest hovel in Africa and the beaches of Ipanema than I have seen here.
83. #77 that is Israel's logic
(05.13.07)
Residents of east Jerusalem are Israelis and those of west Jerusalem are Jews.
84. Israel need to look at the reality in the face
Ahmed ,   Cairo   (05.13.07)
Jerusalem is an occupied city
85. Jerusalem is an occupied city

86. 1 Too bad the EU cant see the genocide
freedom ,   canada   (05.13.07)
in the Sudan. Then again I think some of the EU members are still happily trading with the Iranians. I think that is the case. Oh well, what a world we live in.

freedom ,   canada   (05.13.07)
city of bethlehem.
88. 83 Maybe those is east jerusalem want to move to
freedom ,   canada   (05.13.07)
Bethlehem. There is a lot more room there now that most christians have been forced from that city.
89. to sam #79 or is it slim pickens?
mike ,   jerusalem   (05.13.07)
don't flatte ryourself that israel would ave that kind of effect on US industry, hate to break the news to you but the US is in the midst of a defense industry dream in Iraq and afghanistan. As for using nukes, didn't I see you in "Dr. Strangeglove" riding a nuke, hoopin' and hollerin'?
90. to ray #80 "I love a parade!"
mike ,   jerusalem   (05.13.07)
to celebrate the "unification" why not run the parade thru East Jerusalem to show how really unified the city is? George Orwell is rolling in his grave over the celebrations about a "unified" Jerusalem
