61. I feel more sorry for #33
5th generation ,   Israel   (11.18.07)
Ignorant victim of propaganda, outnumbered by the educated and aware, whose dignity could have been saved by reading more than just Islamist headlines.
62. terrorism caused his death not Israel refusing entry
zionist forever   (11.18.07)
I Feel very sad for the individual and his family but at the end of the day this sob story isnt about an indiviual who died of cancer its about the palestrian terrorists who make it impossible for Isreael to give them entry permits. Before we go looking to blame Israel lets also note that Egypt refused entry but better get ready for another Mohammed Al Dura we are probably going to be seeing alot more pictures of Na'al al-Kurdi the martyr who Israel killed by refusing him access to medical care. Also iits not the issue here but assuming Israel does let these people in for treatment who is going to pay the bills? Israeli taxpayers out of the goodness of our hearts or will the individual pay for themselves. It wouldnt surprise me if at Annapolis Abbas condems this and so Olmert appologises by allowing all palestians who need medical attention to be treated in Israel free of charge and they will be given prioirty over Israeli patients.
63. May God bless his sole.
Hakeem ,   Gaza   (11.18.07)
64. Gazan Cancer Patient
Dr. David ,   Netanya, Israel   (11.18.07)
Why couldn't he go to Egypt? Hamas has not declared war them. Did Germany expect England to treat their sick during WWII?
65. cancer patient from gaza
Ruti ,   Karmiel   (11.18.07)
No way should we accept patients into our hospitals whilst raketot are falling on Sderot every day....Would they treat Israelis? they only think of killing us..
66. No tears here!!!!!!
Uzi ,   Beit Shemesh   (11.18.07)
there are thousands of hospitals in the arab world that would have taken him........ why didn't they?
67. To all of You
Ahmad ,   Gaza   (11.18.07)
Unfortunately, I read allof your commentsbut ,my reply to you all is: Do you remeber the father of the child from the west bank who has been killed by the israeli army fire and who donated his human organs to Israeli children to save their lives.shame on whom is unhumanbieng.
68. I guess dropping $2 mil. for Yasser Arafat's grave is...
Evan ,   Milwaukee, US   (11.18.07)
...way more important to the Palestinian people than upgrading hospitals or even providing short term relief to dying patients. Why should Israel be charged with helping its enemies? Why should Israel have to cure the people who's only aspiration is to kill Israelis and try to eradicate Israel? It makes no sense. Let the UN who has a special status just for Palestinians, the ICRC that wouldn't recognize Magen David Adom and also doesn't care to find out where GIlad Shalit, Ehud Goldwasser, Eldad Regev, or any of the other missing captive soldiers are, or let England, the moral bastion that it seems to be, or France, Russia, China, North Korea, Iran, Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, or Jordan help them. Let Hamas, Fatah, Al-Aqsa's Martyrs, Hezbollah, the PLO, or any of those pro-Palestinian/Anti-Israeli organizations provide the care for it's people. Hell, have Jimmy Carter pay for afflicted Gazans. Everyone is going to say Israel is apartheid and horrible and committing grave atrocities and acts of genocide whether Israel does or not. It's time for Israel to wake up and see that no matter what happens, at the end of the day, Israel will always be the one to blame and Israel will always be the bad guy. Why is it anything new? Did anybody think anti-semitism would stop when the Jews got a nation? Of course not, and now anti-semitism can be channeled into a "valid" criticism of a country. We know their intentions, defame the Jew. Fortunately, most of us are perceptive enough to see what's going on, but unfortunately for us, our news comes from the bleating mouths of the next-generation Kapos. "Jews, Israel, standing up against terrorism, having morals, and not welcoming your murderers into your home baaaaad..."
69. If you wait till the last moment
charles ,   petach tikva   (11.18.07)
a cancer can't be healed anymore . This was developping since months , maybe years . And asking very lately to be received in a Israeli hospital has no sense anymore , much too late . It's sad , but Israel is certainly not to blame .
70. Young Palestinian Cancer Patient Dies
simone joseph ,   San Francisco, USA   (11.18.07)
If the patient was Israeli, would he have been accepted in any Arab countries for treatment?
71. To ahmad #67
kutuzov ,   new york   (11.18.07)
There have been plenty of israelis that have helped the palestinians in a likewise manner. On the other hand, do you remember the palestinian woman who was helped by israeli doctors who then tried to blow herself up in an effort to kill those same doctors. So please save the aligator tears .... the choice of peace has always been a pali choice. Every people and every nation lives with the consequences of its actions. Why is it that the palis paint themselves as perpetual victims. They elect hamas, they fire rockets at civilians, they hand out candy when innocents die, they danced in the streets on 9/11/01. What makes you think that you can escape the consequences of your CHOICES? The misery in the gaza is brought in by none other than you demosratically elected hamas.... so deal with it. palestinians could of had it so much better....but always make the wrong decisions.... oh well.
72. to #70
kutuzov ,   new york   (11.18.07)
Excellent point! why don't we have one of our arab talkbackers answer that one.
73. to #35 Hey moron, did someone lift a rock
jason white ,   afula,israel   (11.18.07)
and you crawled out again? Let all our enemies and their sympathizers die like this.
74. Ellen Prescott, there are no innocent young men in Gaza.
AK   (11.19.07)
After all, they voted in Hamas, didn't they?
75. #33 - you only wish!
tom ,   toronto, canada   (11.19.07)
yes, gaza was "occupied" by israel in 1967. and in those 40 years of "brutal occupation", which you obviously don't remember, gazans had access to jobs in israel, as well as to israeli hospitals. this wasn't stopped by israel, but by the "intifada", and your brave "suicide murderers". now, you can enjoy the freedom of occupation by hamas, instead. and you will be needing much more medical care, because qassams and propaganda won't separate your sewage from your drinking water.
76. some observations
tom ,   toronto, canada   (11.19.07)
1) "co-director of PHR's Occupied Territories Project" - a separate "project", specifically to lobby on behalf of the palestinians? is this some kind of joke, or an inadvertent reflection on their (lack of) objectivity? 2) israel regularly provides medical care for sick people from enemy arab states, as well as the occasional wounded terrorist. this is done on humanitarian grounds, and not because of any obligation israel has towards these patients. 3) why could this man not receive treatment in gaza, at the hands of the same islamists who preach the destruction of israel? or do they only know how to celebrate death? 4) even israeli doctors cannot save the lives of all terminally ill cancer patients - some things are in the hands of god.
77. thanks again ynet for another sob story
jack bauer   (11.19.07)
does everyone feel guilty yet? that is the point of the story When you curse Israel, you curse yourself....this is the end result
78. #35 stop your hypocrisy . Go live in Gaza and see what is is
rachel ,   usa   (11.19.07)
really about ....and you go see what you've been missing.
79. #35 This is the thanks from palestinians
rachel ,   usa   (11.19.07)
to the israelis doctors who treat them .....enough pallywood http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r2LbjxOHjKQ
80. Ishmael should spend his oil wealth on medicine instead of
BJL ,   usa   (11.19.07)
relying on Jacob. But Ishmael spends his money on terror and ways to kill Jacob. I am sorry for this man but his arab brothers should stop spending billions on missiles, bunkers and AK-47's.
81. palestians kill israeli inc many doctors!
Miriam ,   USA,Israel   (11.19.07)
why Israel needs to provide them help? so they can kill more our children? where is Shalit? they can get medical help in Jordan or Egy[t we dont obligate to help those who want to kill us.That is not problem of Israel and more...i wish all palestinians will die ASAP ! All money they get is enough for many humanitarian things, but those scums only spend them on ...GUNS,Explosives,Kassams and their overseas personal bank accounts
82. to #67..Do u remember Shalit? He is in Gaza ...Do u remember
God   (11.19.07)
do u remember our kids killed ,brutally by palestinians?
83. 70 Simone Joseph: OF COURSE, so they could kill him
Rivkah   (11.19.07)
and get a 100% guaranteed place in Moslem Heaven. That is a really "hot" place to go.
84. We are Jews
Robby ,   San Jose, USA   (11.19.07)
A human being died - this is a tragedy. Blame us, blame them, it really doesn't matter - all should have be done to save him. We are Jews - we don't celebrate death, we try to preserve it. It was a tragedy.
85. #70 Simone - who cares?
Robby ,   San Jose, USA   (11.19.07)
We are Jews, not Arabs - what they would do is irrelevant.
86. #67 Ahmad is right
Robby ,   San Jose, USA   (11.19.07)
Shame on us - I agree with Ahmed.
87. profound disappointment
Steve   (11.19.07)
As one who has proposed drastic measures against Gaza I an nauseated by the heartless scum who are applauding this man's death. For all the actual terrorists being released by your joke of a government allowing a catastrophically ill patient to receive possible life saving care would have been the moral and decent choice. It would have also had p.r. benefits you fools could not imagine.
88. Israel's responsibility for the situation in Gaza is obvious
Tarik ,   Boston, MA, USA   (11.19.07)
The Gaza Strip is Israeli-occupied territory, as Israel continues to control the borders and resources of the land. This means it is subject to international humanitarian law, including the Geneva Conventions, which insist that an occupying power has the responsibility to protect the population under occupation. So it is obvious that it is Israels' responsibility to allow a Cancer patient the right to leave for treatment.
89. NOT ISRAEL'S PROBLEM.
andy ,   orlando,u.s   (11.19.07)
90. PALESTINIAN POLICY MEANS WHAT?
