don't you understand, with Mac and Palin in the office you will never ever leave Iraq or Afganistan. Didn't you loose enough friends yet?
33. Palin rocks, and so does president McCain
Johnny ,   Stockholm Sweden   (09.12.08)
34. Re 3

"The basic christian right wing support of Israel is based on their belief that israel will be destroyed so jesus can come back and finish off anyone who doesn't see it the same way as the Christian evangelicals" apparently everyone ignores the books of the prophets who says much the same thing and they predate the christian erea we evagelicals do believe Jesus was the sufering servant who was rejected by the Jewish leadership of his time and will return at the end of the age as the Jewish messiah.... I know many Jews reject that and I am willing to allow that opinion ....one day the real truth will manifest itself... yes there will a sorting of the sheep and the goats but that is also reflected in jewish writings (Tanach)as well as christian new testement. As far as I know Palins Church strongly supports an undivided Israel under full Jewish control
35. Last To Be Hired, First to Be Fired
Dave Levy ,   Burbank. CAUSA   (09.12.08)
We Jews vote 80% for the Democrats and give more money to their campaigns by far than any other minority. We Jews allocate most of our fortunes to every group, but Israel and our own needs. We Jews do NOT own guns, while gentiles have over 250 million. We Jews list Israel at the bottom of the list of priorities. Yet we Jews are the most hated people on the planet. Palin is wrong on some counts. She is against abortions, while most Americans are for it. Of course we Jews are disappearing at 50,000 year..but that is another story (the high birth rates among the Orthodox notwithstanding. We Jews favor high taxes (to help the disenfranchised minorites) yet have the best CPAs to avoid same. We Jews are accused of a 911 plot, and our involvement in Iraq (Jewish neo-cons), yet we have Soros and the liberal leftists in San Francisco and elsewhere. We are ZOG (Zionist Occupied Govt) for pressuring Congress and the Pres. on supporting Israel, while Hispanics send 30b year to their parents in Mexico. Sure, the US helps Israel with 2b year for their military..but with provisos and restraints (see denial of a passage to attack Iran, which WILL nuke Israel within 2 years. Is Palin good for US and Israel, you bet? Is Obama bad, you bet. Do Democrats have Jews in their pockets, you bet. After all, Jews are afraid of guns..afraid of low taxes, afraid of being too supportive of Israel, but are loved, until the surface is scratched and the bigogtry comes out. Ask any Democrat about us, and the answer is, "We know you are cheating us, but that you are smart". "We love you still, but why don't you believe?".
36. Horrible article
Connie ,   Virginia   (09.12.08)
one minute he's praising her, the next he's putting her down. She is not catholic. She attends an independent church. Her previous church was an Assemblies of God church, which is a pentecostal denomination. He is talking from the outside looking in with a liberal world view. "She's hungry for power". The liberals are just running scared now that a conservative candidate is shaking things up. Which means they'll be out of a job. hooray
37. Palin right for America
Connie ,   Virginia   (09.12.08)
The title is the only thing I like about this article.
38. Re: Yoram
Thundercloud65 ,   Oklahoma City USA   (09.12.08)
I would love to know what he is stuffing in his pipe, because it sho' nuff ain't tobacco! I live here and no one is bewailing the fact that Palin is a woman. We're upset because McCain will die in office and leave us with this person that thinks Jews can be redeemed though Christ. I hope when she "speaks in tongues" she gets a message to help the world and not one that says press the button.
39. #8 Americans who DON"T vote for her are dumb!! Yep, I think
you might be one of ,   those dumb ones.   (09.12.08)
40. Palin is Fluff.
Emma ,   NJ   (09.12.08)
Palin is fluff. If you listen to her speak, as opposed to Hilary, she is pure fluff! Palin used her "small town" charm to win voters at the Republican National Convention, but never discussed anything with substance. Why? Because her views are so whacked out and extreme, that she would (and hopefully will) turn most moderate conservatives to vote Democratic. As an Israeli and an American, I resent that this author dare say that New York and California are the only states that are "cared about". If you understood anything about America, you would know that the main influence in America does not always come from the coasts.
41. Except for #7, 15, 16 and 33
great american ,   for amerca   (09.12.08)
You are all wet dumb defeated and again to be defeated liberal democrats. Most Americans are smarter than you are.
42. The Liberal Jewish Vote
Dan ,   USA   (09.12.08)
America's Jews are going to vote in large numbers for a guy who six years ago was using a staple gun to hang posters in Chicago's black neighborhoods. In his own book he says he failed at making change in those neighborhoods, but now thinks he can change the world. America's Jews will vote overwhelmingly for a man who is a close friend of a black minister who hates America, whites and Jews. The will vote for a man who is a close friend of a home grown terrorist from the sixties. They will vote for a man who will reduce our military strength and then meet with terrorist leaders around the world without preconditions. America's Jews will vote for Obama because he is black and they can show the world how liberal they are....and how stupid they are.
43. Pathetic article about a pathetic candidate
Avi ,   USA   (09.12.08)
We in the US and you in Israel complain loudly about Islamic fundamentalists. Do we need our own brand of fundamentalist pulling the strings behind another lame duck president sitting at the steering wheel of the largest economic and military power in the world? To all those pro Palin: be careful what you wish for.
44. talk about gloss
con ,   melbourne australia   (09.12.08)
you really think she will apeal to women.......please 1 shes against equal pay for equal work for women 2 she supports charging women for rape kits ( used as evidence in court against the rapist) 3 allows rapists to pick the mother of their child.... do i need to go on.... you my friend should really follow palin a bit more closely
45. To those Israelis who have warned of the Moose Hunter...
New Yorker   (09.12.08)
This American was going to vote for McCain and will be voting for McCain, and would do so regardless of whomever was selected as the vice presidential nominee, because no vice presidential candidate could possibly do anything to alter or diminish the opposing candidate's deficit in world-view and aptitude to deal with the security challenges that face my country and, even more so, yours. One candidate in this race flat out accused the President of the United States-- who, mind you, has yet to confront the Iranian threat but who has been more vocal than any other world leader including your own (and certainly your President) in opposition to it-- of "saber-rattling" against the Iranian regime. One candidate in this race criticized a certain opponent, who herself is hardly the stalwart defender of Israel's security that she claims to be-- for voting with a substantial majority of the United States Senate to label the Iranian Revolutionary Guard a "terrorist group." One candidate has repeatedly criticized the President of the United States for not taking more "interest" (read, "not further coercing Israel to neglect the interests of its security") in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. (And his vice presidential candidate has vocally criticized the president for hesitating to endorse and repeatedly neglecting to push forward your Prime Minister's foolhardy accession to Bashar al-Assad's latest annual request for the Golan in spite of unprecedented weapons transactions with the Iranian and North Korean menaces.) One candidate won't even go as far as to pledge, as every presidential candidate that preceded him has, to move the United States embassy to Israel to Israel's capital. What other presidents have promised-- albeit to no avail-- he can't even make a pretence to pledge. Except, that is, for a single speech before an organization which his vice presidential candidate has recently criticized. What has taken other presidents a few months to forego, he foreswore in an hour. One presidential candidate claims his reputation upon opposing not a single war-- not upon criticizing a military miscalculation (for he can claim no tactical or stategic prowess)-- but upon standing against the very precept of preemptive military action. The very idea of doing something which the UN-- an organization with whose displeasure you, as a citizen of Israel, should be particularly familiar-- so much as reprimands, no less "censures." One candidate rose to prominence while Al Qaeda terrorists were infiltrating and securing a province on the brink of the Jordanian border-- and joined the chorus of public disenchantment with the hardships and travails of conflict in clamoring for withdrawal-- for surrender. Yes, you are correct. Focus on the fact that a certain vice presidential candidate likes eating moose burgers and shooting wild game. It is a far graver danger.
46. To #32 and the other idiots
Semper Fi! ,   San Diego, USA   (09.12.08)
First of all, moron, do you prefer the barbarians to come to your city and blow your coward moronic butt? Or if you are one of the selfhating jews, do you prefer that Iran gets strong and destroy Israel. Stay there with your Harlem and MTV friends and they will burn your coward ass forever. Guys, have you noticed how all those liberal smarties are in a hurry to condamn and badmouth Sarah Palin, Why because these disgusting selfloathing alleged jews, are feeling the HEAT, their idiot Messiah will loose and America will burn...BTW you guys should be in a deep one, because I live in a paradise, and still wonder why some of the same criticizing the system and the christians leave their countries and come begging to stay in our country, I was also an immigrant and I love this country and despise that scum...They should have a military draft and take that scum to the war for them to see what the patriots chtristians and jews do while they keep whining and blaiming America, Israel for everything. Shame on you scum...but a simple woman, a real American is making you scared to death...Go Mc Cain and Sarah, show that filth what America is...America is not a bunch of cowards, selfhating filth...America is the best place in the world and if you don't like it, you get a hell out and take Obama/Osama with you..
47. I love Baraka Bama but not Palin McCain
Yaakov Sullivan ,   NYC   (09.12.08)
48. Palin is inspiring - to this religious zionist
Y ,   Nitzan, Israel   (09.12.08)
I'm a religious zionist living in Israel that made aliyah over 15 years ago and haven't voted in a US election in over 25 years. Palin, just based on her credibility and character, make me want to regester and vote for her (in spite of McCain). Boy - do we need politicians like that here!
49. Palin for president?
penny ,   Zuerich, USA   (09.12.08)
interesting article- and i hope you are not serious. America, the potentially greatest country on earth- run by actors and cowboys- I rest my case- and you want another cowboy- God help us all!
50. #47 And yet you don't even know how to spell his name!!
not gay ,   usa   (09.12.08)
51. Gov. Sarah Palin
Isaac Barr ,   Detroit, USA   (09.12.08)
As the election campaign 2008 continues the emergence of Sarah Palin is a breath of fresh air in USA and the world. She is a mother of a teen pregnant, 750.000 teen pregnancies annually in US, a son who is a soldier on way to Iraq (170.000 similar American sons and daughters in Iraq) and a child with Down syndrome (1/250 pregnancies have Down's). She is not an identical twin to common Washington thinking, but she is not influenced by them either. She is not biased and may have fresh and new ideas. She uses common sense and not political logic. Yes, she is not perfect, but she did not use Cocaine(Obama), was raised in America and not in Indonesia(like Obama), she has no mafia connection (as Obama had when he bought his multi million home in Chicago from a convicted felon), she is not a millionair and not pushed by radical left wing individuals like Soros. She is not a media darling as Obama is. She belongs to the silent majority USA. She comes in the heeles of great American women. She has my vote 100%.

One of the actors was one of the best Presidents.
53. this is a really bad piece
david ,   tel aviv   (09.12.08)
i hope this column was just translated poorly and that this is not how this writer puts his thoughts to paper. this was a really bad read I'm embarassed for Ynet
54. #21 You have good health insurance
Semsem ,   New York, USA   (09.12.08)
#21: You don't have to pay $14,000 a year for "health insurance." Premiums are increasing by 20% a year; doubling every 4 years. With McCaine nothing will be done. Will have to take the risk to vote Obama. McCaine is only helping thise earning over $200,000.
55. Americans not equal. They will all get pregnant at 17
Laila ,   Montreal, Canada   (09.12.08)
So McCain told us "all Americans are equal." What a joke. Palin is against gay civil unions. She is pro life but shoots innocent moose. She refuses to teach about the birds and the bees in schools. Next all 17 year old Americans will get pregnant.
56. Sarah Palin
Alicia ,   Phoenix, Arizona   (09.12.08)
Why is it when someone is a Christian and stands up for their beliefs they are a religious fanatic? And why is that wrong? If it weren't for religious fanatics who wanted freedom of religion, the America we know today would not even exist. I find it refreshing to have someone who lives what they believe. Those who are criticizing her so strongly are running scared. What Americans need to do is look at both sides and vote for the candidate whose values and ideas more closely resemble theirs instead of trying to defame the other side. This goes for Republicans and Democrats alike. Vote with your heart.
57. Yoram Kaniuk
Ben ,   Monroe, USA   (09.12.08)
You speak utter nonsense. The lady in question has the same qualifications to be vice president, possible president of the US as you do. The lady inquestion is simply another double-speaking politician. Have a suggestion, stay out of US politics and worry about the politics in Israel.
58. Y. Nitzan's post
Ben ,   Monroe, USA   (09.12.08)
No wonder Israel has so much troubles with her politicians and political system. With voters like you, who can't see beyond their noses, religious political fools lead people by their noses. Stay in Israel, we have enough of our own fools.
59. Alicia
Ben ,   Monroe, USA   (09.12.08)
How about voting with your brains? Nobody is telling her to change her religious beliefs; that is not the question. Is this a person who you would want to be your president? Do you think the US could possibly stand for another presidency ala Bush? The USA is going backwards, only the wealthy are doing well. The job market is going down the drain, the housing market is wallowing in the sewer, the purchasing power of the dollar is shrinking faster than you can say Jack Robinson, and business after business is closing their doors. Oh BTW if you really buy into the nonsense that Sarah lives what she says she believes in, you love to kid yourself. The lady is merely another phoney politician being held up a paragon of virtue by those who are pushing for McCain. Try reading some of the truths re the lady by those who know her best, the people of Alaska. You will be shocked.
60. To Ben #57 and 58
Rick ,   L.A USA   (09.12.08)
"I have a suggestion, stay out of US politics"... Excuse me? You are answering a post by an Israeli reporter in an Israeli newspaper and telling him to stay out of politics in the US. Please go back to reading your issue of The New York Times.
