31. Jerusalem quoted in the Koran
Jacob ,   Munich,Germany   (08.04.09)
in general terms the Koran tals about a "distant mosque" , does not mention the name Jerusalem, and: at the tim of Mohammed the so called distant mosque was not yet biult, only about a century later
32. #5&#6 What Pal Capital?
Antonio ,   Spain   (08.04.09)
My accepted silly-counter is over reading your 'perorata' (you appear understand Spanish) about Muhamad, Jerusalem, ascension to heaven blah, blah, blaah ... Jerusalem was chosen by Muhamad because, as nomad people that ever been arabs, he must invent a holy site and what better than one that ever has been holy? Yirusalaim (Hebrew=JEWISH) has been a Jewish holy site from thousand of year, no from 1.300 years (or less) when someone invented Islam because arabs never had a religion to follow. And please, don't use Spanish to finish your fools.
33. Jerusalem is mentioned in the Qur'an
Tip ,   Dubai   (08.04.09)
Jerusalem is mentioned in many Jewish prayers; called the Passover seder ... as mentioned in the Qur'an as the "Holy Valley" (الوادي المقدس)...so it is mention in the Qur'an #1 - Sarah the only thing rubbish is you!! #12 - Your obviously an idiot, your name is not mohammed, is that what Israel are paying for good PR on the internet...pshhh #13 - David(i hate that name), with persistence and time, dreams will become reality. #14 - thanks for mentioning that we are cool, i know & all the world knows it, i didn't need you to tell me that. With time Mate... #21 - "Jerusalem is historically and religiously more sacred to Jews than Arabs" , if thats true then lets share this sacred land, if not war it is. It is our right !! #22 - Marcel don't u have better things to do, like fix your nails or something like that.....i pity you and ur silly excuse of an argument.
34. To: No. 28
Sarah B ,   New York City, USA   (08.04.09)
Jerusalem isn't Obama's to give away. Perhaps the Palestinians might like Washington D.C., though. Mr. Netanyahu can offer it to them. Turn about is fair play. Don't give away my national capital, and I won't give away yours. Is it too soon to talk impeachment? Obama is a perfect storm.
35. To: No. 17
Sarah B ,   New York City, USA   (08.04.09)
Right and truthful? Would that include all the wars you started, and all the terror you brought? The suicide bombers? Eight years of missile barrage on Israeli civilian centers. Cut your losses, find a new dream. One that actually might touch upon reality. Israel is here to stay, and unified Jerusalem is its eternal capital, as it always has been stretching back over 5,000 years. You can't have it.
36. Deadlock on core issues.US appeasement achieves nothing
Sam ,   Canada   (08.04.09)
In reaction to the Israeli right wing government, Fatah wants to show what tough guys they are. Israel has achieved some quiet by leaving a trail of destruction in Lebanon and Gaza. There is a deadlock between Palestinians and Israelis on the core issues and on the very existence of Israel. The American appeasement attempts of Muslims are like putting a band-aid on a heart attack.. For Israel, security is a strong offense and defense.
37. To Sarah
David ,   Dallas, Texas   (08.04.09)
I see you support israel even though of how they treat our arab christian population. If you are such a firm supporter of israel why dont you move there. I for one am sick of israel getting away with crime. It is certain you have no care for the way israel treats christian and muslim palestinians why not move there.See how they treat you when they find out your christian. We Americans voted for Barack Obama and he is with world opinion against israel. I suggest you decide what side you are on and move to the country you support. http://ngm.nationalgeographic.com/2009/06/arab-christians/belt-text
38. to Nour
Steven ,   Tel-aviv   (08.04.09)
Re- no peace without recognizing Palestine...Please convince me and others why you think that if Israel recognized Palestine , there would be peace, as the arabs in Palestine even before the establishment of Israel murdered jews, this was also the case in arab countries where the jewish minority posed no threat to the countries demographic structure, it was plane hate towards the jews,
39. #33 with all due respect
(08.04.09)
The passover prayers , are man written to differentiate from the Tora which is meant to be written by God, Jerusalem is not mentioned
40. the biggest distortion of history!
oded   (08.04.09)
gets antother stage.. with our help... unbeleivable! what "palestinians nation""? it is all a hoax ,a travesty and a complete figment of thie arabs' i magination. the time will come when they will return to where they came from... one way or another.
41. To 5:
AF ,   USA   (08.04.09)
#5 I am not a religious person and frankly believe all religion is nonsense. But let’s stick with the facts we know. The Jews lived in Israel over 2500 years before Mohammad was born, and 3500 years before there was anything resembling Palestinians. You claim Muhammad shot off to havens from Jerusalem right from the only Jewish temple ever built. Now do you really think that God led Muhammad there or was he simply using a well known Jewish temple at the time as his own learned from what he heard growing up? You know if you are going to invent a religion maybe you should be a bit original and find your own gods place on earth not merely use ideas that were used thousands of years before by Jews and Christians? It is 2009 grow up. The world is not flat. I suggest continue with an original Muslim tradition like honor killings. This at least is original and no one else can claim it from you.
42. Whilst Arab lands ban the Bible then of course Nour
kate b ,   uk   (08.04.09)
and all Arabs will not believe the truth as all the snatches of Torah are all mixed up in the Qur'an. The Jew is evidence of an unchanging loving G*d, not a fickle one. The law used by the free west and is based on Torah and is a blessing, fair, unbiased trial for all, no smiting at necks, no chopping off limbs & and yes, and atonemenet, all sadly lacking in the Qur'an just as Jerusalem is - it says the outermost wing you presume it says Jerusalem, if it is not written, then frankly it is not there. Am Yisrael Chai (l'olam va'ed)
43. Jerusalem was promised to....
king faysal ,   oslo, norway   (08.04.09)
....... the druze!!! heheheh, you guys are a bunch of rascist, intolerant, backward thinking bigots. just because you were born jewish or muslim or christian, you believe jerusalem was your promised land, what did you do to deserve that? nothing. you were just born in to these religions.( which are obsolete in my thinking). jerusalem has seen so many different kingdoms and has been occupied by so many different empires and has had so many different people from all backgrounds live in it. its just a city and it belongs to everyone. its not for jews only or muslims only or christians only. God, i hate your way of thinking.
44. Palestinian Intelligence Please Come out of Hiding
ziggy zion ,   israel   (08.04.09)
Can these guys possibly believe Israel will let in 5m refugees in or give up Jeruselam because if they do let the shootout begin, no way to any Palestinians returning to Israel and no way to Jerusalem being divided. If that means another war, it will be the last war because the next time no one will pull any more punchs. Lebanon sneak attacked but now wants peace, hamas tried their rocket strategy and were nearly wiped out. The next confrontation will be the last one. Abbas can decide on which side he wants to be, the one that gets a state or the one that gets a funeral. But he needs to make a choice instead of these speechs before Hamas or hezbollah make it for him.
45. palestinians need to know they have what to loose when they
proud   (08.04.09)
say no to israeli offers. as in any negotiation, when you refuse an offer you may get a better counteroffer or nothing at all. that is the gamble. when they chose to say no to Barak and not accept 97% of the west bank and parts of jerusalem, they took that chance!!!
46. #33 - YOUR QURANISM IS VERY HOLEY...
stude ham   (08.04.09)
BTW... JERUSALEM... all of JERUSALEM... is JEWISH, belongs to the JEWISH people, and will NEVER go back to the occupying arab invaders.
47. T o Nour
SAYID ,   Jaffa   (08.04.09)
As one arab to another, you know deep down that if a palestinian state arises, it will be based on corruption, the end to free speech, and be ruled by force, as in every single other arab country. Israel if far from perfect, but I hounor the Israeli regime far more than any other "So called" arabian democracies , try living or critisizing the regime in Syria, or try critisizing in the west bank Abu Abbas, you'd expect to hear a knock on your door in the middle of the night www.arabsforisrael.com
48. #33 I salute you Lebanese brother!
Nour ,   Palestine   (08.04.09)
I can't wait until we can both visit each other. You take me to Zahleh and i'll take you to Al-Quds. Lebanon and Palestine will rule the world!
49. To Noor
Pastaneta   (08.04.09)
Yes, the false prophet invented a trip to Heaven but Al Quds wasn't Jerusalem. And you have the right to retirn to Jordan or Arabia, not to Israel where you were an interloper.
50. To Tip and Nour AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
The Dude   (08.04.09)
You have got to be kidding me? Thats the best you can do? So the Quran calls it the 'Noble Sanctuary' or the 'Holy Valley'... so a city SO Important is never mentioned by name, literally Jerusalem, Yerushalayim, or Al-Quds? This is extraordinarily suspect, the fact is that between Mecca to the Jordan river, there could thousands of places with that name, one could even be, I don't know be called Medina... just a thought. It's just a very nice convenience, but I wouldn't be surprised in a few years if Vienna doesn't becomes "Noble Sanctuary" or the "Holy Valley" as it's proximity to the Alps surely has numerous Valleys that could be 'holy'. Second 'right of return', well let me ask you this, why does this right only apply to Palestinians? Why not to the Jews thrown out of Arab countries, they recieved no international aid except from other Jews and were re-settled. The Tibetans stuck in India have no legal rights, the Burundi's stuck in Tanzania have no rights as well and kept in refugee camps for generations. And it's not like someone hasn't won a Nobel peace prize for resettling thousands of Greeks and Turks (sarcasm)... the fact is that most people under the definition of "Palestinian refugee" are not, simply. It's only because the UN has allowed for the generation of the racist UNRWA to crop up and make a definition unique for only one group of people who can pass there refugee status from Father to child in such a broad time range. In all other cases, the UNHCR definition, which is one of the few reasonable things to come from the UN, recognizes a refugee is someone from the actual conflict, not the 10 kids, and 100 grandkids who live in Norway, speak Norwegian, and are simply 'refugees' just because the Patriarch was a Palestinian. Your point is daft, and simply to act as a means to flood Israel with millions of people with no connection to land, except a strong desire to destroy it. And finally I have to ask, why is it so hard to recognize Israel as Jewish State? Not just a wink and nod, but the actual fact?
51. Where are you living REALLY Nour?
Jewish Israeli   (08.04.09)
Despite your frequent talkbacks to this site, there is no place called Palestine; your supporters write from Lebanon, Dubai, etc. Are you also sitting out there and dreaming of owning Jewish history? As lots of people keep telling you, Jerusalem is not mentioned in the Koran, and if you want to believe that your prophet flew to heaven on a magic horse, thats your privilege. Just dont expect the ancient Jewish race who were living here in their Holy Land for centuries to believe it too!
52. Nour, you make me sick
Eyal ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (08.04.09)
i cant stand your vile anti-semetism.. you know what lets just wait and see what happens... its just a (short) matter of time before "All the worlds inhabitants will recognize and know that to you every knee should bend, every tongue should swear....and they will all accept upon themselves the yoke of your kingship.." Aleinu. Mashiach is coming. there is no need to fear :-)
53. Oh ya, and Nour...
Eyal ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (08.04.09)
you say recognize palistine... hows about recognizing Israel as the Jewish state... or is this just a ridiculous double standard ??? RIDICULOUS
54. #1 To Sarah NYC:
Wildmandxb ,   M.E.   (08.04.09)
Well Sarah there you go again, lie after lie after lie, your lies are not intentional i understand, you are filled with delusion, misapprehension of facts, but that's what it's all about...we have our ideas, you have yours...what startles me the most here Sarah is how much of hypocrites zionists like you can be...to be more elaborate, can you please explain to me why people like you claim that the Palestinians came from the Balkans while other zionists claim they are arabs that came from Jordan? Where do you people get your facts from? Can we have one story please? On another note, if i were you Sarah, I wouldn't talk about being relocated from anywhere, because you, the zionists, out of all human beings, were relocated from your countries..whether it was Germany, Poland, Russia, USA or any other country, the ones who relocated were YOU and NOT the palestinians, for they had been there for thousands of years, i bet you and your family hadn't been there for more than a couple of decades! Finally inorder to answer your question, YES it is indeed in the name of Jerusalem!
55. #47
Nour ,   Palestine   (08.04.09)
Sayid, nobody said the path to independence and a better future would be easy. God knows our society is filled with ailments including the greedy and thuggish elements not just in Fatah but wide accross the lansdcape. Our mistakes are plenty but at least we admit them rather than hide behind biblical texts to commit atrocities and displace an entire people. Second, I really doubt you're Arab. But in any case, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. You know as well as I do that you get treated like a second class citizen in Israel. In fact, I've spoken to many of my fellow '48 Palestinians who tell me entire Arab towns are lacking basic utilities and infrastructure. An independent and free Palestine is in your best interests. You know why? It would give you more respect, and would check the Israel/Jewish/European supremacist attitude. We are a proud people, and you should also be proud and stop using other Arab regimes to paint an eternal image of despair and hopelessness for our future generations. Don't give up hope!
56. #50 Yo "Dude

57. Promised by Arafat? He's dead; it's hot, no virgins!
(08.04.09)
58. #50 Yo "Dude
Nour ,   Palestine   (08.04.09)
"Your point is daft, and simply to act as a means to flood Israel with millions of people with no connection to land, except a strong desire to destroy it. " Excuse me? Have you got a grandfather burried in Palestine? A great-grandfather? Try a great-great-grandfather? Dir your ancestors cultivate the land, season after season, for centuries? The answer is a "no" - so don't you dare tell us we are not natives. Your're lies have long been exposed to the world - you're utterly naked with absolutely no argument. You hope that with the passage of time we'd forget our past and rights, as if we're animals. You're in for a surprise.
59. #51
Nour ,   Palestine   (08.04.09)
The land is ours. We burried our forefathers here. You know as well as I do the same can't be said about you. Where are you from? Poland? Queens? Moldova perhaps? Enough said.
60. Who knows what Livni promised Abbas
rebecca ,   Modiin   (08.04.09)
Had he only accepted what Livni and Olmert offered just a few months ago, he could be sitting pretty right now. But no, he wanted more and more and more. In fact he wants Israel erased. And now he's not being offered anything. Sorry Abbas - you missed your chance. But then you never wanted peace.
