61. #12 Following your logic, all Italians are criminals because
No to racism! ,   No to hatred!   (08.27.10)
-> they invented the Mafia, right? Of course not! But that's because I don't have any racist sentiment against the Italians, while you do have an anti-Semite, racist and hateful sentiment against Israel and the Jews - and plenty of it! Jerk!
62. #Yea, right! It is anti-Semitism if you only bash the Jews!
The story is ,   exaggerated!   (08.27.10)
Been working in the international tourism business for years, so let me tell you some facts you so conveniently ignore: German tourists are hated in Scandinavia because they get drunk and steal, and in the Far East because of their sex tourism, Australians are hated in the Far East because they get drunk, are obnoxiously noisy and harass the local girls, the British are hated in Spain because they get drunk, trash hotel rooms and harass locals, British soccer fans are hated everywhere because of their vandalism, and the list gets longer with Arabs, particularly Palestinians behaving like beasts in hotels in Italy, Germany and Switzerland. Palestinians are also hated throughout the Arab hotels for their trashing and vandalism. So, compared to this long and unfinished list, with a few notable exceptions, Israelis are actually quite benign. Actually, what are for Israelis notable exceptions of bad behavior, duly blown out of proportion by the racist mainstream media, is the norm for the above examples, so do us a favor: take your self-reighteous libels and hatred outa here, and put them back into your Nazi coffers, where they belong. But your racist rants can also ve explained by the place you're hailing from: Baharein... I guess that has nothing to do with your ant-Israeli attitude, does it?
63. #47 I wouldn't brag about that!
(08.27.10)
You claim that you've been living for 8 years in Israel and that everybody is uneducated here? Hmm, that may explain the huge number of successful start-ups, companies and scientists. That may explain why Israel has one of the best medical systems (and doctors), even when compared with the majority of EU and some Scandinavian "heavens". That may explain why I feel safer to let my 15 y/o kids go to the cinema alone, in the evenings without worrying that criminals or illegal immigrants from other, less fortunate countries, might attack them, rape them or worse. I do believe your rant however, but instead of pointing the accusing finger at the society, I am more inclined to point it at YOU. I mean, what have YOU done to integrate? Have you been trying to actually befriend any Israeli or are you so full of yourself that you think you are better than everybody else? Sir, I claim that at best, you are nothing more than a megalomaniacal snob, or, at worst, just another pathetic impostor, masquerading as an Israeli, coming here to spill your racist venom and bash Israel. Either way, don't let the door hit you on your way out!
64. Hotel in Italy
Raoul ,   Herzlia Israel   (08.27.10)
Well, I have a complaint. I stayed in a 3-star hotel on Lake Garda. Had to shlep our heavy suitcases up three flights. (in my seventies). Almost no toilet paper on entering. Beds not made up by two p.m. Wouldn't take credit card - something about *close of the season* (whatever). Towels were thickness of kitchen type. And BTW my understanding is that towels thrown on the floor means you want clean towels.
65. Israelis in general
Madeleine ,   Israel   (08.27.10)
I have lived in Israel (ex-UK) for over 40 years, first as a twenty-=something single, then as a young - and later not-so-young - mother of 3 children and now as a grandmother. I have seen every type of Israeli, from the dirty litterbug who wants soemthing for nothing and who wouldn't lift a finger to help you, to the educated - by which I mean who knows how to behave to a fellow human being - to the caring and warm-hearted. Yes, we are somewhat louder - probably - than your average European, certainly than your average Britwho'll apologise to you even before he/she has done anything. so, towels on the floor - yes, in a tidy pile, no to just strewing them across the room. Ditto for sheets. Soiled nappies (diapers): fold them over and put them tidily in the rubbish bins, preferably inside another bag if you have one to spare. There's a way to do things. Want to move tables to sit together? We've dont it a-plenty but always asked the waiter/ess first if we can and we find they're only too pleased to do it for us. Taking doggie bags from breakfast? Years ago this was stqandard practice in Israeli hotels. Today most hotels have signs requesting you not to remove food from the dining room. Most Israelis comply. But yes, there'll always be an element of uneducated, uncouth Israelis - and any other nationality too - who are exceptionally noisy, dirty and careless of their surroundings. (Ever been in a British bank or decent restaurant? Have to keep your voice down there - no spontanwous outbursts of laughter). As for blaming the IDF, no way. My 3 children, their many friends and the children of most of my friends all did ful lIDF service, and are caring people who are the complete opposite of the ugly Israeli. It's all a question of education in the home. That's where it starts and that's where it ends.
66. And the winner is....Turkey!!..lol
sam ,   USA   (08.27.10)
67. animals
m ,   jerusalem   (08.27.10)
as an outsider who is currently working in israel, i know what these people are talking about most israeli's are cheap and like to take advantage of whatever they can with no regard for anything. these people should be taught a lesson in manners and etiqutte. and perhaps a show of class when travelling to other countries. Its not bad enough that the airport authority makes incomming travellers in israel feel like garbage but to spread the same image outside is enough.
68. #14: It is a well known fact that...
Stefan ,   Hamburg, Germany   (08.27.10)
ENGLISH tourists are the worst. Nobody would deny that. Cheers, Stefan
69. No. 60 Yehuda
NYC Girl   (08.27.10)
I have to tell you that even though I've lived in NYC my whole life, I don't remember seeing women picking their noses in public. But men? That's another story. In fact, a number of years ago an Iranian friend told me about something commonly done by Iranian men...at least at that time. They grow their pinky nail longer for the express purpose of picking their noses. So while I agree that Israelis often leave a lot to be desired when it comes to good manners, they haven't necessarily cornered the market when it comes to gross habits.
70. dirty floors?
David ,   USA   (08.27.10)
I'm sorry but by the pictures I can't see any dirty on the floors, and if you are talking about dirty towels well I guess they had a great time at the beach and it is the responsibility of the hotel to wash the towels. If the hotel is upset with the bed-sheets being on the floor, I think I would be grateful that the sheets are still in the room. Come on, what's a little dirt between the feet? I really don't know about the food ordeal because of what you say about the messy room and what I see makes me feel like maybe someone is trying to make something out of nothing.
71. Tayfun #11
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (08.27.10)
The streets in Turkish big cities such as Istanbul, Ankara, Bursa, Kayseri are full of trash, cigarette butts and phlegm from people spitting on the pavements and even discharging their nose on the pavements publicly and with loud noise with no respect to others in the street. man stopping by a tree to relieve themselves is a common occurrence. The story that yo wrote must have been done by one of the Turkish hotel staff most likely an AKP supporter.
72. Michael from Vienna #20
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (08.27.10)
And yet the Antalya hotel operators association went on the media asking the Israeli tourists to come back to Antalya. He said that Israelis were welcome and due to their cancellations the loss was anticipated to be around 300 million US dollars.
73. Uneducated Israelis keep on bringing many Nobel prizes
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (08.27.10)
What would happen if they were indeed educated?
74. As is obvious, many of us
another savta   (08.27.10)
are decent people here at home in Israel and outside Israel. The helpful hints are really preaching to the converted, as I don't think the low life trashers scroll through English ynet. Most of us have educated our families by example. WE are not the problem, but our haters gleefully love spewing their venom at us at every opportunity, dont they.. Gee, What else is new... Have a Shabbat Shalom
75. Ridiculous reactions, double standards.
Faruq   (08.27.10)
I have worked in hotels in egypt and the uk and these things do not surprise me at all. And comments along the lines of ''in my country this is not so'' are the absolute trash.
76. World critisim
Paul ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (08.27.10)
The world is quick to condemn Jewish treatment of 'collective punishment' against Hamas supporters, but have been imposing 'collective punishment', 'collective criticism', 'collective accusations' against Jews since the birth of Christianity and similarly with the advent of the other replacement ideology of Judaism - Islam. Now even their sterling offspring, most likely atheists have the same rotten repulsion. Throwing towels on the floor is not a crime against Italy or a behavioral problem, as this article suggests. Sorry, just more of the European sickness morphing into other means.
77. Sorry
John ,   Herzliya, Israel   (08.27.10)
No matter how much I liked your country during our stay there, no matter how much I support you in your struggle against Arab neighbors, one thing I must say. In general, Israelis are known all over the Europe being the worst possible guests.
78. This is ridiculous
Shaul R ,   Portland, USA   (08.27.10)
In most hotels you are required to leave towels on the floor if you would like to have them changed. There is never any charge for asking room service for extra plates. In all my years of travel I have never seen anything as scandalous as this. I think Israeli tour agencies should make a list of hotels with these types of practices and warn their clients to stay away.
79. Cannot be true.......
Abir ,   Chicago, IL   (08.27.10)
This simply cannot be true......Israelis are the most gentle, kind, considerate, indiscriminating, considerate, thoughtful, always concerned about others feelings, appeasing, conciliate, and I just cannot think of more superlatives !! How dare these gentiles complain???? They must either be anti-semitic or of Arab ancestry !! Enough sarcasm.......... As an FYI......one does not need to go all the way to Italy.......just look at what some of the Israeli youngsters do to the hotels in Eilat. Watching Israeli Channel 2 TV last night, it was reported that the Minister of Internal Security (Aharonowitz) and the finance minister have reached an agreement that the security guards at schools in Israel, will now also maintain security within the schools and among the students and staff. This is in the face of growing juvenile violence, with the school staff losing control over discipline and the increase in student violence directed at school staff. This stems from the "I will not be a 'friar' (taken advantage of)" attitude that is inculcated in most Israeli youth from a young age. This also manifests in their driving habits and general behavior.
80. Towels & Sheets on floor???
Rachael L ,   Alaska, USA   (08.27.10)
You know in the US most hotels I have stayed at, the rules are: If you hang up your used towel you are going to use it again, and if you leave it on the floor you want it washed. So ALL dirty towels belong on the floor. I wonder why they don't complain about US tourists, because thats what I ALWAYS do. Sheets on floor, What were they not going to strip the bed and wash them? Seriously I have left hotels worse than that. This article made it sound like they left it with actual money damage or all their garbage on the floor. I am starting to think Italians are the horrible people who should be boycotted!
81. they are unrepentant jews...what u expect
shmuel ,   seattle, usa   (08.27.10)
decent compassionate caring humans???
82. Here is a stunning take on the situation
Serge ,   Montreal, Canada   (08.27.10)
Israelis are not the best tourists. They are not shrinking violets like Malaysians. In many cases their behaviour is completely inappropriate. This is similar to citizens of many other countries, which does not excuse it. It is equally inappropriate that racists Turks like Tayfun #11 use this as an excuse to mould to their racism, for instance by attempting to attach it to, and thereby reinforce, the age-old antisemitic slur that Jews consider themselves "chosen" for anything other than particular religious responsibilities. Israeli tourists in the late teens and early twenties who are unwinding from military duty, who in particular are responsibility for disgusting tourism, should be ashamed of themselves. So should many of the nakedly racist talkbackers on this forum, such as Tayfun,.
83. we are rude slobs!
(08.28.10)
Recently traveled to Spain with an organized Israeli tour...NEVER AGAIN! I spent a week with a bunch of loud mouthed rde slobs who felt that everything had to be done their way or no way! These freeloading rude slobs were offended when the hotel management ordered that all bags had to be left outside of the dining room. Still these people loaded up their plates with enough food to feed at least three people tasted everything said it was substandard and then went back for more. If I extrapolate from the group I traveled with to the article above well then our bad international repution has been earned! It is sad
84. World is anti-semitic
Jason ,   USA   (08.28.10)
Since everyone has the same complaints about the terrible behavior and cheapness of Israeli tourists...everywhere from India and Italy to Britain and South America...so I guess the only valid conclusion is that everyone is anti-semitic! LOL
85. The legacy of Marxism
emmess ,   Niagara, Canada   (08.28.10)
Peacocks! "I am a Sabra" they used to say, almost spitting it in your face. It meant "I'm better than the average Jew." Nobody wanted to be a "frier" by waiting his turn or saying please or thank you. I had hoped those days were gone when Marxism faded away along with the kibbutzim where the goal was egalitarian socialism and children were supposed to be raised by the village. Unfortunately, the lousy manners are still with us. This is what foreign journalists see when they are assigned to Israel. No wonder they sympathize with the enemy.
86. Just one minute!
Heather Czerniak ,   Mississauga, Canada   (08.27.10)
Israelis have traveled abroad for a long time, just like tourists from anywhere else. All of a sudden, there are millions of complaints about their behavior. Something isn't adding up here. Hey, I've seen Americans vacationing in the UK who acted far worse than the rowdiest Brits, yet no one complained.
87. Israeli manners are a problem
David ,   Portland USA   (08.28.10)
I have been to Israel. I found the people there warm and friendly but very crude and bad mannered. As an American Jew I am ashamed of israeli behavior myself. Italians are warm and nice people . Israel needs to be more civilized in behavior and etiquette. Seems that everywhere israelis go (Poland) they cause problems and complaints. I dont see much discipline of israeli kids. Ameican jewish kids would get a good spanking if they behaved that way.
88. 82-Wonderful! They don't want you and you won't go there!
Jo ,   Israel   (08.27.10)
So both sides are happy. What a wonderful world, isn't it?
89. Horrible but true
Ben ,   Jerusalem   (08.27.10)
Im Jewish, Israeli and completely not anti-semitic but there is a definite problem that needs addressing with Israeli behaviour both here (israel) and abroad. Israeli;s are the most inconsiderate campers in the world - banned from many campsites in S. America - i love camping but hate it here.... the noise, the zevel - no where else in the world have i camped where it has been so frustrating. I used to work in Eilat and witnessed the most shocking behaviour - widespread theft, filling up great vats with orange juice to take for the day as well as shamelessly emptying the complete cake table into a large holdall..... attitudes need to change fast..i love this country and its people but we are really are not doing ourselves any favours. manners cost nothing.
90. israelis worse home.
Afrika Cohen-Libaï ,   Rosh pinna   (08.28.10)
10years, stays the same conclusion: Rude, DISCOURTEOUS & without education. The worst is the constant danger on the road. i salute the author of this article
