He should be recognized and applauded not for just backing Israel, but for having the courage to do so when so many western leaders simply lack it. They are driven by fear and not by values or principles. Good for you mr. PM and your country.

First you complain that the US should not support Israel the way it does, and should stop any and all funds, then you complain that Canada is showing some backbone while not supporting Israel with funds. Typical of you. BTW: Canada DOES count as the G8 statement shows. Iran also counts, but only for ill. Jealous?

When I was growing up, dinosaurs LOL, there was no disagreement, people were strongly pro-Israeli. Passage of 50 years, changing of the generations and see what you see, when looking at the votes of yes and no on the website articles on this, it becomes apparent that the overall majority of such people are against Harper's decision, sad as that is to say. So, he isn't acting on the instructions of the majority of voters, he is acting on his own conscience.

Very proud of Canada and PM Harper. He realizes that there is no such thing as 1967 borders. Pres. Obama needs to learn history that those borders (GREEN LINES) were established by UN for creation of Israel. 1967 war did not create any new lines(borders). Jerusalem should NEVER be given to the Arabs. They never had it before creation of Israel, do not hold any rights to it. Jerusalem was always a capital (home) for the Jewsih people. As a result of his stance regarding Canada's refusal to involve itself in Durban III, Canada has been refused a place in the UNHRC amongst such stalwarts of human rights such as Cuba, Libya (since expelled) and Syria (nomination put on hold).
