Did anyone asked your soldier to board on the ship?
62. #36 Sinan
Lola ,   Rio   (09.05.11)
Agree with you. Would only add ALL North Americans and British airports, and in Europe, Madrid and Lisbon. They treat foreigners as garbage regularly . You can say "it's not political" but oh! it is so. Both Israeli and Turkish governments right now are freaking out. pretty hysterical stuff.
63. No. 39 Rich
NYC Girl   (09.05.11)
You're right. The Israelis can't be that stupid...but, apparently, you can. That flotilla was no "charity ship" in the first place. And when the thugs on board attacked Israeli soldiers with deadly weapons, what the hell did you think was going to happen to them?
64. Do the Jews of Israel have no self respect at all?
Al   (09.05.11)
When will they get it into their thick stupid heads that Israel was founded to protect Jews against the anti-semites? Stay in Israel and enjoy your own country. Have you no pride, no self respect? Are that poor in self respect? Are you such schnorrers? They piss on your heads and you tell yourself its raining.
65. We know the barbarian face of Europe as well
Emre ,   Istanbul   (09.05.11)
Dont explain the same story barbarians etc.. We know the history of Europe and we know how barbarian they are if it comes for their benefits. If Israel has the netional honour we have the national honor as well. This will be not easy this time to clear this mess for Israel. Come and behave like an adult. Apologize for the lives of our 9 people and we will be again friends ! Otherwise get used to it for such results...
66. Treatment
Isser ,   London   (09.05.11)
What happened to the Turks and Israelies happen to me twice at Ben Gurion airport and once at Heathrow. Taken seperately, unfriendly Israeli staff, rude is a better word. Searching lugage, taking electrical stuff apart. On one occassion they took my razor apart and did not put it back together. hair residue was all over my belongings. In a way it is pay back time for the Turks who are cashing in at the rude and brutal behaviour of Israeli security personal.
67. stand up
ale ,   italia   (09.05.11)
stand up for turkey foreign policy. i support turkey policy against israel's outlaws crimes. in ben gurion all goim passed trought umiliating check. no problem if same israelis of mossad were "checked" in instambul. no one in all Turkey will use israelis methods, thanks God..... israelis method is a Navi Marmara method, out laws and strictly made in knesset. we support Palestinian in ONU vote and Turkey in israel' affairs

Time for Congress to make them pay for 1915 genocide

It is funny how people like you always blame the wrong person. I believe there was nothing anyone could do: for his own reasons, Erdogan decided to break relationships with Israel (read #23), but let's pretend that you are right and Israel is to blame. Why blame Lieberman? It was Barak who made the stupid plan that endangered Shayetet, so they had no choice but to kill the IHH terrorists. It was Barak, Olmert and Livni who decided to make the blockade on Gaza to rescue Shalit. But I guess it is easier to make racist comments about Olim chadashim than blame people from Tel Aviv, Ramat Aviv and Rehavia, isn't it?
70. Why act surprised ? TIT 4 TAT

71. surprised it took this long.
oferdesade ,   israel   (09.05.11)
even more surprised to learn there are turkish tourists coming to israel... what, 3? as for israelis, they'll go to sinai where they're loved, cairo where they're loved, turkey where they're loved. anywhere but israel, which is ludicrously expensive. let the government figure it out.
72. Ron (#7) we live in the 21st century. Wake up!
Ibrahim   (09.05.11)
Turkey is more democratic than the US. Turkey has abolished the death penalty- The US did not. Turkey's highest court is the European Court of Human Rights. The US will not allow appeals to international courts. All Turkish prisons are inspected by EU officials and are run in accordance with EU standards. Take your rubbish elsewhere.
73. Emre #65
R ,   Israel   (09.05.11)
Erdogan could have transfered any humanitarian aid through the proper channels. Erdogan could have prevented the IHH terrorists from creating the provocation. The Turks on board were not peaceful; they attacked our soldiers with knives and chains. Our citizens are attacked daily from Hamas in Gaza and the whole Marmara incident was a provocation. So it seems that if any apology is in order, it should come from Turkey to Israel. Whether Turkey apologizes or not, both countries have nothing to gain from the downgrading of ties. So bottom line: we all lose.
74. Go to Greece, Cyprus, Malta etc...
(09.05.11)
Israelis should be visiting alternative destinations: Greece, Cyprus, Malta, Corsica etc...

Linichka ,   Gdynia, Poland   (09.05.11)
Not true. As a non-Jewish Israeli, I am subjected to extra scrutiny by security, entering and exiting. That's life. It isn't my idea of a great time, but not once has any agent been less than polite to me and thoroughly professional.
76. No Sympathy from Me
Eli ,   Israel   (09.05.11)
Jews who go to Turkey or any other Anti Semitic place like Egypt and then get in trouble deserve it. Why go there?
77. experience of a non-jewish visitor to Israel
phil ,   the free world   (09.05.11)
this treatment is no different from that I received when I was stupid enough to visit my close friends in Israel.. Despite coming from a country that is a friend if Israel, I was held for 4 hours in BG airport, forced to answer nonsenscial questions that had no bearing on security etc I decided to come back again the following year.. I thought that it would be easier, as I had been put through this harrassment already and was allowed entry.. How wrong I was.. the same rude and ill-mannered treatment for 3 hours detention... and then they did it again when I went to leave the country... That was in 2004 and I will never visit again.. Now some will go on about security, terrorism and so on but answer me this.. If I was deemed not a threat on my first visit, why was I put through the same abuse on my 2nd visit And why why why was I subjected to it when LEAVING the country.. no security issue at all

What the hell were Israelis doing in Turkey? Have they no pride at all?

confrontation with Israel, and we, Jews, Israelis and otherwise, don't want it. Thus, let us step away and disengage from Turkey and anything that is Turkish. Sadly, this is the case, but we have no control over what the Turks do. P.S. Turkey is also in the process of developing a crisis situation with Cyprus and Greece at the moment; both members of the European Union and the former a member of NATO. All indications are that Turkey is in the process of cutting its nose despite its face. Let us not be stained by its own bad blood....

Getting screwed and capitulating to every demand as Tzipi and co. would like to do cannot be considered good diplomacy either. Anyway, Israel's relationship with Turkey has nothing to do with Israel, but it does with the Islamist leaders of the country. As they are aligning themselves with Arabs and Iran they wish to distance themselves from Israel. Those who visit Turkey deserve what they got for showing no pride. I have even stopped buying Turkish products, mainly food, since they don't export, it seems, anything else.

82. PR
Sam M ,   UK   (09.05.11)
This could have the makings of a good PR coup for israel. A group of turks landing in Israel should be given flowers, a warm welcome and a free tour of Israel with luxury accomodation provided courtesy of the Israeli government. This would symbolise Israel's long standing relationship with turkey and it's good intentions towards the turkish people. It would also send a message that Israel doesn't indulge in hostile and childish antics typical of the erdogan government. It would establish a clear separation between the turkish people on the one hand and their government and radical islamists on the other. The dispute between Israel and turkey is after all between the latter two groups and not with the turkish people as a whole many of whom one would hope are appalled by the behavior of their own government. The leader of turkeys main opposition party has come out publicy against erdogans policy re Israel so presumably there is some support there. Of course it wouldn’t change things overnight or even in the short term but worthwhile investing goodwill to prepare for the day when ‘normal relations’ resume.
83. Such a wise man eh!
Samuel ,   Israel   (09.05.11)
Can you just answer this simple question. What would you have done if you were beaten by iron rods, stabbed by knives & thrown overboard? The sole intension was to board ihe ship & check for weapons. Before they could board the ship they were fired with water cannons. Now where were you all peace loving people?

You write some of the most inane comments. You do not apply logic, reasoning. FACTS nor critical thought, and you come off as a simpleton, but maybe that is what you are.

No one will vacation in Somalia, especially not Jews. You can enjoy your country all by yourself.
