I would have the thought that the U.S. would have immediately squelched the war- threats of Erdogan. After all he is an 'ally' threatening an even greater ally. I would have thought that the U.S. would made it clear to Turkey , that if it wanted to receive the military supplies it needs from the U.S. it would quiet down in regard to Israel.

Erdogan dreams of being an Ottaman emperor which is why he wants to butt Into everybody else's affairs be it Israel, Syria or Egypt. He also wants to prove what a strong emperor he is who fears nothing and so is ordering warship to open fire on any Israeli ships trying to enforce the blockade and changing the F16 friend or foe codes so he can fire on Israeli jets. The US needs to bring this emperor under control before he plunges the whole region into a war which will get a lot of people killed. Throw Turkey out of NATO Refuse arms sales to Turkey because they cannot be trusted as can be seen from the fact they are breaking the terms of sale by playing with F16 codes to allow him to launch an offensive war. Time for Obama to act like president of the United States and accept all the responsibilities that come with the job and stop trying to appease Turkey the way he has been, even going as far as lobbying the EU to admit Turkey on the grounds it's an Islamic state.

He is on a PR campaign for his own ego. He has no other way of doing that but pressuring Israel. He has gotten this far by acting this way. He got his Egyptian contracts by making himself more likes Lenin the eyes of Arabs. He has no gutts to attack. He is bluffing all the way. He knows that he won't be able to fulfill the contracts while at war with Israel. He deos the same thing with Iran. Puts on show while gets the contracts. He can't end the blockade nor can he deliver peace. But he can look good and make money while acting like he cares. Muslims should wake up, but they won't as usual.

Not long ago your incompetent PM dissed Obama and the US. That's why very high-level US officials call Israel an "ungrateful ally". Turkey has neither spied on the US nor endangered its national interests. Israel has done it all. What ally?!

by the US Senate and Congress expressed deep cross party respect. Robert Gates wants Israel to bow down instead of be treated as equals. That's his problem. Currently Turkey's behavior as a bully to Israel does not serve US interests which is why defense equipment sales are now on hold.
