3. erdogan goes again
marcel   (09.27.11)
fresh from saying that israel killed hundreds of thousands of palestinians, absolute lies except when it applies to turkey killing armenians and kurds, now he says sanctions should apply to israel. a leapoard cannot change his spots. Back in the 90s, erdogan was sent to jail for islamic radical activities. and there he belonged . Instead th emilitary thought it was doing itself a favor with the masses and look where it got them much as the shah gave more freedom to the mullahs in iran or france allowed khomeinin to broadcast outside paris. yossi beilin dovotogolu with his phd and zer o problems policy now has syria as an enemy, israel as an enemy, greece and greek cyprus as enemies and yet barak obama shows deference to islamic erdogan as he does to saudi arabia, jordan, egypt even when they are lying to him. and turkey is lying constantly. Nothing needs to be said about the flotilla except one thing. I formally ask the turkel commission to advise israel as to who gave the paintball gun order.
4. this man is mentally ill
Eldad ,   NY, USA   (09.27.11)
Beyond obsessed with Israel.
5. Israeli's will laugh at his comments because they know
sheik rattle & roll ,   USA   (09.27.11)
that Uncle Sam will VETO any move by anybody against Israel. Israeli's have no idea how much diplomatic cover the US provides Israel or they are too arrogant to admit it. If it wasn't for the US what he is saying would of been highly probable if the diplomatic weight of the US wouldn't be applied at the UN in favor of Israel. Most other countries could care less about Israel because the topic of Israel is not a politically sensitive issue in regards to elactions.
6. This guy is sick
Samuel ,   Israel   (09.27.11)
Dosn't this Guy has any thing to do in life?Hey! Mister, why don't you look into your own backyard how you have slautered the Armenians & the Kurds. Why in the world do you spread only hatred?Don't you have a concience?Lies, lies & lies, just like your friend Abbas.
7. sanctions, you want sannactions?

Rahel   (09.27.11)

9. Who says I am a completely evil madman?
President Erdogan ,   Ankara, Turkey   (09.27.11)
OK just because I want to invade: Greece Cyprus Israel Bulgaria Armenia Kurdistan Syria Iran does not make me an extreme fascist. Does it?
10. Kicking some Israeli ass everyday...
Ahmet ,   Istanbul, Turkey   (09.27.11)
He has millions behind him.
11. Is this an obsession?
Tim ,   Brighton   (09.27.11)
Forget the economy, reduced growth, tourists staying away, the PKK, drug trafficking, unemployment...just Focus on the Flotilla? Even when its clear to all and sundry that Israel REGRETS the killings but CANNOT REGRET her LEGAL RIGHT to enforce the Gaza Blockade to prevent the smuggling of rockets
12. Sanctions on Israel
Orly ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (09.27.11)
There is no way that we can stop this man from having more brilliant ideas everyday. Today, we heard on the news that President Peres is trying to mend relations with him. Mr. President, please desist. You will only make matters worse. Show some dignity! Have you forgotten how he walked on you in Davos, much before the unfortunate flotilla affair. Please remember that Moslems, Turks included, do not respect people without self esteem. This guy is definately completely mad. Nothing will stop him in achieving his goal, trying to be the "Khalife" and restore the Otoman Grandeur. This is his agenda and this is what he is aiming at. Just ignore and let him stew in his juices. Sooner or later, the United States, E.U. and NATO will have enough of him and they will impose economic, military and touristic sanctions on Turkey. He has deep financial problems and this is the reason for wanting to deter his people by attacking Israel and Cyprus. At the end, the Turkish people will oppose him.
13. How does he have all this time to critisize Israel?
Sami Dave   (09.27.11)
I mean, with all the threats on Cypress, Killing Kurds, and denying Armenian genocide and throwing in jail who ever thinks so, he still has time for Israel + photograph with Mahmud Achmadinijad and Syrian Asad ! Amazing!
14. This man makes me laugh...
Baris ,   United Kingdom   (09.27.11)
I really really want to laughing. First, he should look at his country and then give recommedations to other countries. Do you know that how many people s dying in turkey everyday. There are still problems like Kurdish people rights and other etc. This man s nothing and Turkey s nothing. If i was u, i would nt take him and his country serious.
15. #5 sheik
solomon ,   bklyn   (09.27.11)
Israelis (and others) laugh at his 'comments' as they know how ridiculous they are. He ignores facts. He acts as if the Palmer Report doesn't exist. He should acknowledge the Panorama (BBC) documentary. He ignores what Turkey is doing to the Kurds and what Moslems are doing to each other. Enough said.
16. Why does Israeli media obsess about Erdogan?
Avram ,   Jerusalem   (09.27.11)
And pander to his ego by publishing his every inane remark? Because they agree with him? Because they buy into his program to demoralize Israel and its friends? Pathetic. He lives for the grandstand and Israeli media builds him a bully pulpit!
17. Erdogan the biggest hypocrite of all!
Maurice ,   Montreal   (09.27.11)
He says: "Until today, the UN Security Council has issued more than 89 resolutions on prospective sanctions related to Israel, but they've never been executed.". Well Mr. Hypocrite, have you executed the UN resolutions on Cyprus? Do you want to be reminded of them again? You have ZERO credibility!
18. #10 - Ahmet
Maurice ,   Montreal   (09.27.11)
Israel and the Western World don't give a damn about his "ass kicking" . They see him as a sore loser, because the more his idiotic rants go on, the more he is becoming the laughing stock of the world. You and your million of Turks should be sooooooo proud of your idiotic prime minister.
19. erdogan and #10
steve   (09.27.11)
The day the US' permanent seat is eliminated from the United Islamic African Nations is the day we stop funding it. We just don't like mob rule. As for sanctions, of course they should go against Turkey: incitement, refusing to acknowledge the Palmer Report, which Turkey requested. Then there is that annoying Armenian genocide issue that will not go away...and why not the new Turkish genocide of the Kurds. More? After Israel and Cyprus do the work on oil exploration here comes Erdogan to steal it for Turkish Occupied Cyprus. And how many countries recognize Turkey's theft of & occupation of Cyprus? ONE, Turkey.
20. Palestinian rights, Israel abuses
Joseph ,   Los angeles   (09.27.11)
Does Judaism condone genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity? It's behavior in Gaza in 2009 I do not believe are in conformity with the Torah. The goldstone report can not be ignored. The soul of Israel is being corrupted by it's inhuman war crimes.
21. To: Tim at No. 11
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (09.27.11)
Oh, it has gone well beyond an obsession. I credit two things for Erdogan's insane rantings: (i) he is trying to galvanize Turkish opinion in order to keep them from looking at the disintegrating Turkish economy which, once they are booted out of NATO (that's coming), will only get worse; and (ii) Turkey is now taking its marching orders from Teheran (which will only hasten their departure from NATO). Erdogan is courting the Islamic fundamentalist vote (sane people would not vote for him) and he suffers from grandiose delusions that Turkey can actually usher in a new era of the Caliphate. That simply isn't going to happen. Erdogan is megalomania on steroids. He is also an international laughingstock. Oh well.
22. About UN Resolutions
David Israel ,   NY USA   (09.27.11)
There are over 100 (It was too much to count I stopped after 100) UN resolutions adopted in the UN security council about the Cyprus issue almost all against Turkey which Turkey does not recognize. I will only list a few most significant ones: On Missing persons: resolution 3450 (XXX) 1975 resolution 32/128 1977 33/172 1978 36/164 1981 37/181 1982 On Human rights: 4 (XXXXI) 1975 4 (XXXII) 1976 17 (XXXIV) 1978 1987/50 1987 Resolutions adopted in General assembly: 3212 (XXIX) 1974 3395 (XXX) 1975 31/12 1976 32/15 1977 33/15 1978 34/30 1979 37/253 1983 and many more
23. Truth!
DMITRY ,   USA, Co   (09.27.11)
U cant handle the truth!
24. No weapons aboard because the intent was
Stephen in New York   (09.27.11)
to establish precedent. Erdogan’s comments are disingenuous because the intention of the 2010 flotilla was not to deliver weapons to Hamas, but to establish the precedent that the blockade had been broken. According to maritime law, breaking the blockade even once ends the legal status allowing the blockade. That would enable Hamas to import any and all arms legally by sea.
25. A delusional monster
Baskin ,   Zurich   (09.27.11)
He was rejected by Egypt, when he intended to enter Azzah as a conqueror. An obsessed monster nibbled by inferiority complex and madness.
26. If the UN had imposed sanctions on Turkey....
Vlad   (09.27.11)
The Northern Cyprus conflict would have been resolved long ago.
27. One thing's for sure, #10, Ahmet
Besalel ,   Great Neck, NY   (09.27.11)
one thing is certain: your leader has managed to convince many people that Turkey still matters. I think people ought to sit back and relax - we are dealing Turkey - a country that has always been regarded and should always be regarded as a non-contributing zero. stop giving this guy so much attention. I mean, lets be real, Turkey is just a nasty poor country with a troubled economy. Turkey is Greece but with ugly people. Let's be real, Turkey does not matter. They want to run around like angry hamsters round and round their little wheel - here is one American-Israeli who says: let them. its only turkey.
28. Erdogan, Man of the Year!
Concerned American ,   Tulsa, USA   (09.27.11)
He stands & fights for truth & justice. Go, Erdo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
29. No. 10, Militarily Turkey is a paper tiger and a basket case
Marco ,   Spain   (09.27.11)
Militarily Turkey is a paper tiger and economically a basket case. Turkish army hasn't fought another real army for 90 years and all its upper echelon officers with any little experience have either been fired, resigned, retired or are in jail. How is Turkey expected to perform in any serious armed conflict far away from its shores and without aerial cover is wishful thinking. Financially Turkey's economy is about to collapse big time in the next several months making Greece look like a walk in the park. With all this in mind, Erdogan wants to be the Middle East’s bully?
30. Where are you CNN, AlJazeera, BBC?
Maurice ,   Montreal   (09.27.11)
I guess this is not news worthy of publishing? I wonder if you would have ignored it if it was done by Israel? But then again Israel would never kill people in such cruel way. And you call yourselves respectable news networks! You maybe many things, but respectable you are not!
