Thierry Blanc ,   Switzerland   (10.18.11)
The best news for me. Gilad Shalit, a young kidnapped soldier free from captivity terrorist palestinians. Against 1000 palestinian terrorists. A vicotory of Jewish humanity over palestinian terror. Bravo!
2. Im so happy right now!
Anon ,   Johannesburg   (10.18.11)
3. Welcome home Gilad - thank you Bibi for this joy!
Daniela   (10.18.11)
4. once again
Leon Zacharowicz ,   NY USA   (10.18.11)
Once again, he was held captive-- this time, by media questioning him under eztreme duress. This is under demonstration of how they were surprised and outfoxed. This did, of course, breacb all bounds of decency. No one cares, as we've gotten used to being outsmarted and humiliated.
5. Welcome HOME Gilad Shallit!
Merla Watson ,   Abbotsford, BC - Can   (10.18.11)
I wish with all my heart I could hug this young brave man. Not only I, but thousands of Christians across the world have prayed diligently for his release DAILY from the moment he was kidnapped. When I found out last Friday I cried uncontrollably. May he be healed fast, have a great reunion with his precious family and loved ones, marry a wonderful girl, get on with his life, and have a truly fulfilling future! I wish with all my heart I could meet him face-to-face! We are PROUD of you, Gilad! And SO THANKFUl to HaShem!
6. The pain is on both sides, can't you see?
Sari ,   West Bank   (10.18.11)
It is so sad that we people, Israelis & Palestinians, are put in situations that most of us have no control over it. We will both defend our unique situations by our nature instinct. Did I feel sorry for Shalit and his family? Yes I honestly did. Do I feel sorry for Palestinian prisoners? Yes I do. To all Israelis, if you were born Palestinians, what would you do and how would you feel in such situations?
7. He looks pale and weak - shame on the Egyptians for forcing
A Jew ,   Galus, Texas   (10.18.11)
him to do the interview. Shame on Hamas for injecting him with their horror for so many years. Shame on the Arab people for being cynical, bloodthirsty murderers, who celebrate death, and who rejoice in the pain of those who are different from them.
8. Israeli Mothers' Welcome home Gilad Shalit
Vicky ,   Ashkelon Israel   (10.18.11)
Every mother Sobbed as he was dragged along the ground, Every Mother weeps as a son is homeward bound, Every Mother cries for the sons we have not found.
9. Gilad Shalit
Moragh   (10.18.11)
What a relief to see this young man home on his own Holy Ground. Good luck Gilad. I'm sure you're overjoyed and your mum must be climbing the walls until she can hold you in her arms again. You'll need a lot of private time with your family and much, much rest. It must be a huge relief for you to know you are finally walking on God's Holy nd chosen Land. All the very best to you Gilad. Have a well deserved rest and a warm and cosy time with your beloved family. Good Luck.

Its impossible to tell whether you really are who you say you are because of so many left wingers masquerading as Palestinians on these threads. However, I would say to you. Ultimately its clear that both "everyday people" want peace however, the Palestinians have set out to destroy the Israeli people from the beginning. Most of our wars were defensive not offensive. Maybe you should think about that?
11. Arab propaganda even at the most unappropriate times
Julien ,   Liverpool, UK   (10.18.11)
I can't believe they altered what Gilad said about his health. From this little thing, it appears as clearly as ever that arabs can't be trusted, haven't evolved towards more democracy and transparency. They don't question themselves, they are incapable of self criticism and questioning. Hopeless !
12. To: No. 6
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (10.18.11)
"Born Palestinian?" Since when? The real Palestinians are the Jews. You co-opted our identity. You are nothing but filthy Arabs. Bedouins. You come from the Hejaz in the Western Arabian desert, or you come from Egypt, Lebanon or Syria. How do I feel in such a situation? Easy. I think you need to be thrown out. There! Does that answer your question, asswipe? We cannot live with you -- you've proven yourselves to be nothing more than terrorist murderers. We hate you and your violent ways and we want you out of our country. Most Israelis agree with me. There! How's that for an answer? You did ask ....
13. welcome home
(10.18.11)
welcome home... wish you happy and peaceful days.
14. To sari: #6
Marilyn ,   Galilee, Israel   (10.18.11)
There is a BIG difference! The Palestinians being released are criminals who were convicted by a court of law of sadistic crimes, mainly against civilians. Galid was kidnapped.
15. #6- Sari
Uzziel   (10.18.11)
Answering to your question: ¨if you were born Palestinians, what would you do and how would you feel in such situations? ¨ 1- There´ s no such a thing as "palestinians". You are arab immigrants in the land of Israeli demanding things that do not belong to you. 2- Gilad Shalit is a soldier and like all the soldiers in Israels have a code of ethics to abide with. The arab terrorists in Israeli prisons are murderous hate filled perverted maniacs and a typical byproduct of your arab-islamic society. Don´t make absurd questions.

Gilad looks pale, weak, and starved. May he have a gentle and speedy recovery both mentally and physically and may the people of the State of Israel, despite their pain, welcome him with open hearts. Welcome Home. May your new life begin with strength and grace! Hodu Lashem Ki Tov, Ki L'Olam Chasdo.

20. Gilad
IlanaB ,   AShkelon   (10.18.11)
It was absolutely heart wrenching to watch this interview. I myself heaved and breathed and sighed along with Gilad. This was totally a tortourous interview and a huge shame tht it took place. It made many people angry and cry. It is also terrible to see Shalit so weak, white and thin and weak. Couldnt they feed him and give him glasses??? Their muredering terrorists went home fat and educated and lived with humans. Gilad came home isolated from humans, weak, dreadfully thin!! The cruelty of it makesme burn with an emotion I have long tried to deny-hatred.

22. good news but the deal should not have been done
zionist forever   (10.18.11)
Whilst I am happy he is home this is a deal that should never have been done and Bibi knows it. The main reason Bibi did this deal after nearly three years is because of the social justice protests. He is seen as the PM who is in the pocket of big business and right now socialism is the fashion of the day and Labor have gone from being fourth in the polls to first. As socialism is the fashion Bibi's good record on the economy probably wont buy him any votes and for sure nobody is going to be congratulating him on his efforts to get the peace process moving. There have been no wars in which he achieved a victory. If Bibi wanted an image boost which would gain him popularity amongst both the right and left the only trump card he had was Gilad Shalit. He did a deal which himsef, Barak, Livni and Olmert were all against for five years and suddenly overnight Bibi decides to make it. One thing this does hint to though is early elections. All Bibi can hope to be praised for is Gilad Shalit and considering the left are the dominant political movement and there are now two women leading the other parties and unlike Bibi they both have a whiter than white image so he needs to act fast while Gilad is fresh in people's minds.
23. Mr. PM, it's time to celebrate
Al ,   Georgia, U.S.   (10.18.11)
... and then bring these Hamas thugs to justice - ALL OF THEM! Positively NO DEALS with Arab terrorists!
24. #6 Sari...
valentina ,   israel   (10.18.11)
Sari I understand what your saying, and I understand the pain of Palestinians, and I can't help but hurt when I see anybody suffer. But I have to say, I don't feel sorry for the palestinian prisoners. They murdered people. Just like you wouldn't feel sorry for any israeli who killed your family, and I don't feel sorry for people who think that what they did is good, because that would mean, they don't want peace, they hate us and would do what it takes to kill us. Many of these prisoners are not sorry themselves, so why should we be? If I were born Palestinian.... the first thing i would quickly bring myself to understand, is that being palestinian doesn't give me the G-d given right to kill who i want, justify it, and then demand freedom. In any other country, such acts would have been punishable with life sentence or the death penalty. Notice that israeli prisoners who murdered remain in jail, if we had over a thousand israeli prisoners who were serving multiple life sentences for murdering many palestinians each, would you be so understanding if we released them all?
25. This interview was sickening
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne   (10.18.11)
I don't think that I've seen such a disgusting spectacle for a long time. Poor Gilad Shalit looks like he's been fattened up after coming out of Bergen-Belsen,yet he was treated like an object by propagandists. Egypt is a sick society. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
26. Holocaust survivor
Amo   (10.18.11)
I cannot help but think of Holocaust survivors when I look at the emaciated and pale Gilad.
27. thank you Ian
IlanaB ,   Ashkelon   (10.18.11)
I am sick. I am not a hateful person and have always worked for peace and understanding and always believed in these values. Yoday I am shattered and feel white blinding hatred. It tears me apart to see Gilad, who could be my own son (same age) look like that. Murderers go home swarthy and fat...
28. Another lovely detail
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne   (10.18.11)
The Red Cross finally got to see Shalit. A bit late,eh? THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
