121. The 21st century court Jew speaks
Michael   (12.04.11)
I guess nowadays kissups get jobs they aren't qualified to hold. Just like the court jews in the 17th century. Those jews were often influential and in order to keep their good standing with the king they would do the King's bidding. In nowaday's terms would create a more tolerable situation for the King to throw the jews under the bus. I guess things really don't change.

Cameron ,   USA   (12.04.11)
Beginning to disappoint? You wound me so! Thought we wuz cool, but if there are problems, then lay them out. Trust me, there are also times when I have my doubts about you, and wonder where the Hell you are coming from. The US and Israel are separate states and cultures on opposite ends of the planet. We're good allies, but our interests and agenda are not perfectly identical. That is true nature of nations and Realpolitik. To note: Sympatico with much you say, but I am always the wary cynic, and do not expect me to play one of your pandering Zionist cheerleaders on this site.
123. to E, Leibovitz
paule ,   brussels, belgium   (12.04.11)
Not only the Obama admin. thinks that way, entire europe and morst parts of the world too....Is everybody wrong ? I don;t think so...After what the Jewish people had to live through, it should be the most peace-loveing people on earth, but just the opposite .... Not tjat ANY violence of the arabs is justifieable.. communication, tolerance and mutual understanding are the only options, violance will nerver result in victory. But does the jewish people really want peace ? Isn't it financially better of raging war ? And isn't that nor the real reason of the conflict ???
124. Hmm
Passer By ,   Sofia, Bulgaria   (12.04.11)
If this was the case, then why is it that muslims are often chanting "Remember Khaybar, Jews, the Army of Muhammad is returning"?

126. To: No. 105
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (12.04.11)
Okay. So when are planning to vote with your feet and head out to your beloved ersatz "Palestinians?": Yeah, right. Just another empty head, aren't you? You can now officially stop proving it. We know you are an idiot. Please stop boring us with your pithy, empty statements. Come on -- volunteer to join Hamas, why don't you? Join Hamas, why don't you? Oh .... you're a self-appointed armchair "quarterback," aren't you:? Just another idiot and fraud, who endlessly chooses to prove her idiocy on these boards.. You're a sad, sick, methamphetamine-drowned whore, aren't you? Get a life, chica. Get a job. I have a lot of friends who are looking for someone to clean their toilets, and you are just PERFECT for the job! Are you interested, or do you prefer to remain a ward of the United States taxpayers? Ta Ta..
127. R.Godstone, Gutman, Quisling, Yossi Beilin, Gideon Levy...
tom ,   tel aviv   (12.04.11)
the list goes on and on
128. Can't you people read?
Pieter ,   Belgium   (12.04.11)
He says there are 2 kinds of arab anti-semitism, the kind of hardcore arab racists, and the kind of antisemitism that is caused by Israeli policy. And he's ABSOLUTELY right. In Belgium, there was a significant rise in anti-semite incidents during the year Israel invaded Gaza. Secondly, I've been to a speach of him 3 weeks ago, and he said, and I quote, 'the United States will always support Israel', thirdly, he's a jew himself. Maybe you should consider he's right
129. Not just the muslims..
Pieter   (12.04.11)
Dont just blame that on the Muslims, pogroms against Jews have been present in history by multiple parties for a long time (sadly). Germany 60 years ago, Spain 400 years ago, and way more than that.
130. A master of the obvious
LibertyRising ,   Chicago, USA   (12.04.11)
Why were the attendees shocked at hearing something that is known and understood by anyone with a link to the real world?
131. Unfounded, ill-informed, misleading comments
NormanF ,   USA   (12.04.11)
Arab hatred of the Jews long preceded Zionism. The Jews are gone today from the Arab World, but hatred of the Jews, like a virus, is still transmitted from the old to the young there. Its in evidence every where. A US Ambassador of Jewish descent ought to be better informed. But anti-Semitism as I always like to say, remains the last respectable form of bigotry on earth. Gutman's words are a testament to the effect of the world's oldest hatred even upon Jews!
132. Gingrich 4 president
Jannie ,   Slowak   (12.04.11)
I think Mr. Gingrich, wishing to appear presidential material, should speak up for all Americans and put USA first, second, third .... rather than to concentrate on any other foreign issue whatever the merit.
133. Is this really controversial?
marco ,   manchester uk   (12.04.11)
isn't it obvious that there is a lot of Muslim hate of Jews provoked by Israel's actions? There is quite a good way to verify it: every time there is a war in Israel, antisemitic acts surge. It is wrong that some muslims reflect their anger against israel on jews because they are jews but it seems rather obvious to me that it is the case and that bringing peace to the middle east would reduce this occurence.
134. This is precisely Obama's view
Dan ,   Seattle, WA   (12.04.11)
So why should we be surprised? The only thing surprising is that some still believe Obama to be a friend of Israel. He passionately hates Israel.
135. Sadly, the rest of the world agrees with Gutman
Vipul ,   San Jose   (12.04.11)
I'm an Indian American, a (non-practicing) Hindu, and so in every possible way, a non-invested party in this argument. My Dad was a huge fan of Israel for the balls they showed in surviving in a tough neighborhood. I have grown up hearing stories of their heroism and have always strongly subscribed to his Israel adoration..... till I saw the generous doses of shit that Israel has been heaping on the Palestinians over the last decade. It's ironic that Israel treats Palestinians the very same way that the Nazi party treated German Jews before coming to power. You may not give a damn that I think Israel has a very racist policy in place, but please know I have TONS of company...... In the court of world opinion, Israel is fighting a losing battle. Whether you like it or not, Israel will very likely have to deal with Obama for another term. As a voting American, I support his stance on Israel (and if anything, I want him to stop even the token kowtowing to the Israeli lobby and really come down hard on Netanyahu's ass).
136. Ambassador
Steven A. Egger ,   Alvin, USA   (12.04.11)
Fire this Idiot!
137. Gutman
Vera Katz ,   Venice   (12.04.11)
Shame on you, poor Mr Gutman. VK California
138. hatred and history
hyperbola ,   NY, USA   (12.05.11)
Hmm, seems Mohammed just got several hundred years older. Your knowledge of history is lacking. Here is a historical tidbit for you. In the years just before Mohammed, when the Asyrians were taking power in Palestine, jews carried out a massive genocide of christians in palestine, especially in Jerusalem. In fact, the Arabs/Persians had to protect christians from the jews. Now until recently, the cemetary where many of those christians were burried existed (Mamila). What do you suppose would happen if a 1300 year old jewish cemetary in the US or Europe were razed to build a hotel/parking lot/"museum to tolerance" as the zionists did recently?
139. Of course he's correct
Alan ,   USA   (12.05.11)
These couageous comments coming from an American leader underscore two important things. 1. That world Jewry and Zionism are not the same thing, and 2. The Jewish fable that anti-semitism is in no way related to actual behaviors by some Jews is just that, a silly fable. Bet this comment goes unpublished.
140. #118 Ezra
LibertyRising ,   Chicago, USA   (12.05.11)
If you're so proud of Israel, please leave my country.
141. anti-Semitism
Paul ,   Chicago, USA   (12.05.11)
Yes, we infidel swine must submit to complete annihilation. Then muslims will no longer hate us. What a fool.
142. Israel and Jews
Mike ,   NYC   (12.05.11)
Is Italy does something I don't like does that give me the right to attack all Catholics and hate them. Is there a separation between the political actions of Israel and the Jewish community. Or the haters need some new reasons to justify to old rooted hate? The word Genocide was invented by a European and I hope that it will be internalized in my life time in Europe.
143. But for how long
Zivron   (02.26.12)
Most Arabs would now accept a partitition based on generous areas of Israel in Exchange for settlements area and plus east Jerusalem but the right of return of millions of Palestinians to Israel would return as people are attracted to conflict like the force of magnets .If the Palestinians want right of return the Jews also have that right and who controls security. The Jews have to as they are they are .endangered greatly by their demographic losses from the Holocaust.
