61. Camera all set up, Just co incidence or provocation
PETER SM ,   AUSTRALIA   (04.15.12)
Pre arranged for the cameras by "activists" immune from any need for work to support themselves .
62. Messing with the military? Really?
Heplev ,   Switzerland   (04.15.12)
Seriously - messing with the military isn't really smart...
63. Not enough force was used to stop these
jason white ,   afula, israel   (04.15.12)
foreign invaders! These same invaders a couple of generations ago would have been helping the nazis round up Jews. We need to tell foreign countries that their citizens will be stopped with brutal force and send home in body bags. Imagine how any other country would treat these s.o.b.s? The same force should be used against Israelis that help the pali terrorists.
64. That's right
Naor ,   USA   (04.15.12)
When an IDF officer tells you to leave, you LEAVE. Sticking around will be hazardous to your health. Stop interfering with the IDF's daily job of keeping Israeli citizens safe.
65. IDF and Protesters
michael cady ,   troy ohio usa   (04.15.12)
When you are told specifically not to do something by the authorities in power and you deliberately defy those orders don't be surprised if you don't get a cheery welcome. The young man went to confront a soldier on duty and got about 12 inches too close and was pushed back by the side of a weapon.Old saying,Don't pick a fight with someone who has more force than you.The IDF will be investigating which is more than the Peace Ambassadors from somewhere else are worthy. The soldier over reacted but who knows what atrocities he's had to clean up after all the world experts have condemned Israel, its people and most of all its military.Israel has to fight for its existence every day,24/7 and all they get is condemnation from all of the liberal democracies in the world.Let's face it many would be happy if Israel folded its tent and departed the area.Problem is God gave Israel the deed to the land long ago and He never goes back on a promise. So if you have a problem with Israel being where it is,take it up with God first.
66. My perspective as a non-Jew
Kai ,   USA   (04.15.12)
As neutral non-Jew, having both Arab/Muslim and Jewish Israel is a tiny nation outnumbered by over 5,000 Muslims to 1 Jew ...outnumbered by 24 belligerent Islamic nations (22 Arab, 1 Iranian, 1 Turk) nation on over 99.9% of Middle East land to 1 teeny tiny Jewish nation; well, Jews have to be strong, unbending and not give up an inch of ground.. Jews have to demonstrate to the world 1) the provocateurs are on the WRONG SIDE of the equation, 2) that Jews will not let the belligerent majority gain an micro-meter of ground. The alternative is another genocide as the Muslims have already promised, 3) built-up frustration of the Jews (this officer) when they encounter ignorant brainwashed provocateurs who are siding with the Islamic MAJORITY out the destroy the historical Jewish people and deny them their historical land. Try to look at it from this perspective. I side with the underdgog - Israel, and I don't apologize for this, not even to my Muslim friends.
67. very good action! Nothing wrong with this!
Richard ,   The Hague Holland   (04.15.12)
68. this is army, no sentiments
dato   (04.15.12)
69. Uncalled-for behavior
Asaf ,   a right-wing voter   (04.15.12)
Sorry, but even though I do not share the same opinion as the activists, this action is brutal, uncalled-for, unprofessional, inhuman and not to mention - shines a VERY bad light on Israel and the IDF. The man just stood there and did nothing, wasn't a immediate danger to anyone. The officer acted with anger and shamed us all.
70. Looks fake
Jennifer ,   Israel   (04.15.12)
Something seems off about this whole thing. The officer is holding the M16 like it's the first time he ever touched one. No experienced officer would hold his weapon like that in the middle of hosility. Are we sure this isn't another fabrication?
71. JUST A PLAYFUL AND GENTLE TAP
LAWRENCE ,   SAFED OPERA HOUSE   (04.15.12)
You should see this officer when he is really angry .
72. Use of weapon
NIgel ,   London   (04.15.12)
Just a few hundred miles north of this, over 10,000 yrian protesters have been murdered by soldiewrs using the other end of the gun. Whilst voilence shpould not be condoned, no deaths, no long term injury. Compare to Syria, ( where inages of protests are suppressed). A lot will be made of this incident which will be talkenas a seriuous disciplinary issue in Israel but would be considered too moderate in other parts of the Middle East
73. STOP TO MEDDLE into Israels affaires !
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (04.15.12)
MORONS !!!!!!!!!!!!
74. They came looking for trouble
A ,   Belgium   (04.15.12)
and they got it. So whats the problem?
75. GUYS! USE YOUR BRAINS !!!
AMERICAN HINDU ,   USA   (04.15.12)
There is a war on. Israel's enemies want to portray you as brutal & cruel. So use your brains and play the game wisely. This is just the kind of propaganda victory they are looking for. Do not play into their hands!
76. 55. talking about Turkey?
George ,   LA   (04.15.12)
this is military blocked area. those protestors or anarchists of whatever they are not allowed to be there. turkey shot on the poor kurds even for less.
77. 1# I disagree it was a non violent protester
ygalg ,   israel   (04.15.12)
the officer actuate unnecessary excessive force. don't make an excuse to inexcusable behavior it would have elapse if there was danger to an officer.
78.  9. why has the officer beaten him with M-16 rifle
A ,   Belgium   (04.15.12)
Because that is the weapon used by the IDF. In Egypt, as you probably know, reporters, civilians, Copts, Christians, protestors, are beaten with Kalishnikovs And who knows with what else in Egyptian prisons. So you, representative of one of the LEAST developed countries and one of the most repressive countries of the Middle East, have NOTHING to say about what happens in Israel.
79. #15. What about the OWS protesters?
Tom ,   USA   (04.15.12)
Occupy Anything protesters were mercilessly sprayed, beaten and arrested by the US police. In the heart of America the Free! Your vicious, foam at the mouth hatred seeped into your brain.
80. # 47
Birdi ,   Israel & proud of it   (04.15.12)
ex-UK you really dont belong in Israel as you dont have the baitzim for this country. I am as much ashamed of you as you are of us. No go back to Londonstan where you wont have the sea & sun, but will have your peace & quiet with a huge potatoe in your mouth. Lech kfar!
81. haha agree...
George ,   LA   (04.15.12)
82. 33. Canadian: American police did more
Tom ,   USA   (04.15.12)
It beat up and sprayed mercilessly the Occupy Wall street protesters. Canadian police did the same against student protesters in Montreal. 2010 G-20 Toronto summit protesters: Violence against police, cars set on fire, you anarchist keep your mouth shut.
83. horrible
european   (04.15.12)
that guy with the rifle really looks like he just walked out of a cave. israeli army might be better off without "officers" of this kind. the victim on the other hand had no business being there in the first place, but should sue for this incident. these "activists" should have been detained and deported, not assaulted. instead, here's another chance for everyone in the world to read and even watch how brutal and primitive israelis are. well done - NOT.
84. "beating by IDF officer"
Rhonda ,   Chicago, USA   (04.15.12)
It looks bad but I'm not going to say anything further until the IDF does it's investigation on the provocation. However I do find something curious. If the officer had hit him THAT hard, then how come the guy's jaw didn't get broken? He doesn't look like he's in excruciating pain and he later appears to be sitting on a wall talking to another activist. If someone has their jaw broke or is really hurt badly they tend to put their hands at the sore spot, is crying or moaning or something. I don't have much sympathy for these cyclists. They were told to not be there or to turn back. Especially during times of tension when the army or police give you a directive you follow it. If you disagree then write a blog later. These soldiers are there to protect the greater citizenry.
85. boo freakin hoo
Josh ,   Atlanta   (04.15.12)
You mess with a bull, you get the horns, freakin get some! Payback's a bee ahhch, aint it Europeans? All those centuries, all that oppression, and you can't take a smack in the face? No wonder everyone thinks you Europeans are pathetic.
86. THEY CAME EXPECTING A DOCILE
ADAM ,   USA   (04.15.12)
JEWISH POPULATION IT IS WHAT IS HISTORICAL FOR THE COUNTRIES THEY CAME FROM. WAKE UP EUROPE AND EVERY OTHER NATION ISRAEL DEVELOPED A NEW BREED OF JEW WHO DOES NOT BOW AND MARCH TO THERE DEATH NEVER AGAIN------------
87. Hopefully They Won't Try That Again
Douglas Fireman ,   Chicago, USA   (04.16.12)
"The" activists "claimed that the IDF had prevented them from traveling on Route 90 and that the ride was in protest of the ban." The Danish activists were told Not to ride their bikes on Route 90., but decided not to heed the warning. There are consequences for one's actions. Give the one with the stitched lip a day or so, and then, providing they have paid all expenses incurred for their foolishness, deport them back to their respective countries. Many Kudos to the Israeli officer.
88. So? It is the only way to deal with terrorism
Larry ,   Or Yehuda   (04.15.12)
89. did you see them eyeballing one another
Arnold-Canada ,   Montreal   (04.16.12)
Right at the 14 second mark. It definately was a shot to the face but that does not constitute a "beating". But ..it will not play well.
90. Canadian Dude # 33
Eaglebeak ,   Left Coast, USA   (04.15.12)
Did you actually watch the video? Nobody was beaten. You are only making a mountain out of a mole hill.
