1. The antisemitic EU is a joke
Amir Abutbul ,   Haifa   (07.24.12)
While they do label Meir Kahane's group Kach as terrorists, they refuse to put hezbollah on the list. The EU makes me sick to the stomach.
2. The EU
David ,   London, England   (07.24.12)
The EU would have accepted Hitler as a political partner. The real joke is that the EU exists to prevent such a tyrant in the future. This decision questions if they are even able to to recognise such evil. They have even less credibility in foreign affairs than the UN and that really is saying something.
3. EU will fall too. Like the arab states are falling.
Efraim ,   in Virginia   (07.24.12)
Israel will knock out Hezbos once and for all in a matter of time. We will shut them up for good. The muslims have to be afraid of jews. Period - Full stop!
4. The EU
Jane   (07.24.12)
is dangerous to our health. Why do we even bother? Those lands of the Jew-killing machine would willingly (gladly) repeat their abominations of the 1940's.
5. hizbullah with iranian help and finance
(07.24.12)
bombed the jewish center in argentina. after a lengthy court trial, the argentinian government concluded that it was hizbullah that carried out the bombing killing almost 100 jews in buenos aires. huzbulla was also involved in bombings elsewhere. why not list it as a terror organization?
6. hizbullah was also found by the un
(07.24.12)
hariri tribunal to have assassinated harirri president of lebanon. why not list hizbullah as a terror organization?
7. European definition of terrorism
Syd Chaden ,   Palermo Calif USA   (07.24.12)
Face it! European anti-Semitism only paused, because of the horror of the Holocaust, it never went away. Europe does not consider the killing of Jews "terrorism". That has been demonstrated time and time again by European silence, inaction, and even complicity in such attacks. Most recently, a moment of silence at the Olympics in memory of the slain Israeli athletes was ruled out because of Muslim objections. The silence was deafening. The European definition of "Terrorism" is when Israel retaliates for the killing of its citizens.
8. Clueless Cyprus FM
Ajax ,   Israel   (07.24.12)
No tangible evidence Hezbollah is engaging in acts of terror? I bet she doesn't even know her country is bankrupt. Someone please break her the news.
9. The EU supports terrorism and dares to
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (07.24.12)
critisise Israels housing projects at the same time...Hmmm....WHAT does that say ?
10. EU doesn't have to stand FM Israel's barking
Gregg ,   Haifa, Il   (07.24.12)
First investigate instead of accusing without proof. This is how it works in democratic Europe...
11. Terrorist organisations
David ,   Dublin   (07.24.12)
While there is no evidence supporting israeli claims that hezbollah was behind these bombings there are numerous documented reports of Israeli terrorism eg Goldstone report , Why is Israel not sactioned as a terrorist state
12. Well done Kozakou-Marcoullis
Bergkamp   (07.24.12)
Israel protects your collective greek cypriot butts from further Turkish aggressions, enable you to exploit your gas reserves and you repay in this way. Can´t wait to see how you reap what you sow.
13. EU says "lack of credible evidence"?
William ,   Israel   (07.24.12)
Which part of the mounting evidence is not "credible"? The firing of rockets packed with shrapnel and ball bearings into Israeli civilian centers? The continued declaration that Israel and Jews have no right to exist in the Middle East? The continued support materially of terrorist groups which are already on the EU terror list? The continued implication of Hizbullah in terrorist attacks around the world, most recently in Bulgaria? The continued involvement of Hizbullah in brutally oppressing opposition in Iran, Iraq, and Syria? What makes it hard to believe Hizbullah is a terror group? Because they have a TV channel and a few seats in govt despite being a violent militia separate from the rest of the country's infrastructure? Or could it be the direct connection with Iran, whom is seeing heavy sanctions, and the EU is still hungry for cheap, albeit illicit, petroleum?
14. #1 - perhaps one of two reasons....
William ,   Israel   (07.24.12)
1) because the EU is working closely with Hizbullah through UNIFIL...or, 2) because UNIFIL is defenseless and without any clear mandate with teeth, and the EU wants to protect its own interests from Hizbullah retaliation.
15. Well
John ,   Herzliya, Israel   (07.24.12)
No matter what EU says, at the end of the day it is Israel that will have to take car of this bunch of terrorist loonies. I just hope this time you will do a better job than in 2006.
16. No evidence? Why of course not.
Gideon Reader   (07.24.12)
There is no concrete evidence that the Hezzgoatshtupperim is a terrorist or terrorist associate organization. The Euroweenies are also **still** gathering evidence and proofs of wether or not Germany is actually transporting "undesireables" to "places in the East" where they may be placed to work for their health and general betterment. They (the Euros) are mulling a little used phrase that has recently surfaced; "final solution". So far they have not received convincing evidence. Just some individual inklings.
17. Evidence....
Amichai ,   Huntsville, US   (07.24.12)
Kidnappings of Westerners in Lebanon in the 80s. Marine barracks bombing in Beirut 1983 Hijacking of TWA flight 847 in 1985 Bombing of Israeli embassy in Argentina in 1992 Bombing of Jewish Center in Argentina in 1994 Kidnapping of Israeli soldiers in 2006 The EU is blatantly racist against Jews and it's fitting that they're going down the toilet.
18. Stay cool-EU is already paying the price for antisemitism !
who cares   (07.24.12)
Look at the EU - its falling apart ! ''He who curses Israel will be cursed !''
19. Being "active in Lebanese politics" has somehow exonerated
Harry Wright ,   UK   (07.24.12)
Hezbollah from its terrorist deeds, according to the EU. Um! Would such a group be acceptable to govern any of the EU countries? I guess so since there is no "tangible evidence of Hezbollah engaging in acts of terror". They are clean as a whistle, never mind the group's massive weapons stockpile and formidable military capabilities; never mind that they are operating as a state within a state and over-shadowing the legitimate military of the state. Of course not! They can't possibly be a terrorist organisation. All those terrorist attacks that can be easily found on the internet are false because there is just no tangible evidence. Hizbollah is supposed to leave tangible evidence around for everybody to find. The EU sure encourages terrorism.
20. Europe had no issue with Nazis as "armed wing" and a "party"
Dr. L. Brnd ,   San Diego, USA   (07.24.12)
America, the world's only superpower, classifies Hezbollah as a terrorist organization, and that is all that matters. Europeans are historic enemies of the Jewish people and of Israel, and they haven't changed. Europe are also adversaries of the American people. Most of us, or our ancestors came here to get the hell away from them, and history proves that they are only our "friends" when they need us or want something from us. The rest of the time, they are busy undermining the US economy and selling weapons to our enemies - except when we catch them at it. The illegal Pak and Iran nuclear programs were "accidently" supplied by EURATOM. Syria's illegal chemical weapons program, now in the news, was built for them by Swiss, Austrian, German and Spanish companies.
21. #10 gregg - you have it backwards...
solomon ,   bklyn   (07.24.12)
as usual. Read #5, #6, #13. Also read some history; don't believe your own fairy tales. One of which is that Europe is still democratic while they are afraid of all the muslims.
22. #11 david
solomon ,   bklyn   (07.24.12)
Read #5, #6, #13. Also remember the killing of the US Marines and French troops in Lebanon? (No, i didn't think so.) There is plenty of evidence supporting Hezbollah as terrorists. And all you can quote is a report disavowed by its main author, not to mention its self-admitted bias? LOL ! (Read some history; then post. Or don’t read and let’s see what other fairy tales you’ll come up with.)
23. Another stunning Foreign policy success
Sarah B (No not her)   (07.24.12)
by Lieberman
24. #4 Jane we bother
Sarah B (No not her)   (07.24.12)
because 75% 9f everything that Israel produces ends up being sold within the European Union. Without the EU Israel's economy would collapse, and that is the cold reality of the situation.
25. EU is stupid !!
pink elephant   (07.24.12)
26. nominated for joke of the week
Larry ,   Los Angeles   (07.24.12)
the Europeans obviously win this week's joke of the week. If Hizbullah is not a terror organization then who is?
27. "tangible evidence of Hezbollah engaging in acts of terror"
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne   (07.24.12)
Has Kozakou-Marcoullis forgotten what started the 2nd Lebanon war,2006? Even if she could deny that the Hizbollah incursion to kill and kidnap soldiers was terrorism, she'd have to squirm like a worm to deny that bombarding civilians with missiles as a diversion to the attack wasn't terrorism. In EU parlance,it looks like NO aggression is terrorism if directed at Israel. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
28. Enjoy your new Mohammedanism!
Jx   (07.24.12)
Bye bye Europe... Enjoy getting what you so richly deserve - namely, your end...
29. #24. Sarah B: Read the news
Tom W ,   USA   (07.24.12)
The EU economy (save Germany) will collapse much faster than Israel's. Read the news not the Koran or the Guardian. Israel will be still here when the EU succumbs to Sharia Islam. Don't you believe it? What will the Eurosocialists do when your Islamic friends reach the critical mass of 25-30%? They are 10+% now. You shall wear a burqua. We Jews will sell it for you.
30. What more proof could you need???
(07.24.12)
Is this a joke? They are the epitomy of a terror group. How about this for evidence: Kidnappings in Lebanon in the 80's, bombing of AMIA in Argentina, firing rockets indiscriminately at Israeli civilians deliberately, suicide bombing of American marine barracks in Beirut, contributing to insurgency in Iraq, contributing to international drug trade to fund terrorist activities, threatening genocide (Hizbulla rallies show flags of mushroom clouds) towards Israel, being responsible for bombing in Bulgaria of Israeli civilians...What more proof could you want? Maybe Al Qaeda is not a terrorist group? Why is there so many questions when it is Jews who are being wronged? either they are terrorists or they aren't!
