61. #16 there's a difference between criminal and terror acts
Liran ,   Toronto, Canada   (10.05.12)
The American in this instance was looking to exact revenge for being fired. There was no intention to instill fear in the general civilian populace through violence for political or ideological gain.

give as much details. You two dim wits should learn to think with your limited mental capacity. First of all all security guards and anyone with a handgun must have a special lanyard hooked from the belt to the weapon. It makes it very hard to grab someone's handgun. Secondly, most security guards learn self defense, especially those in hotels, schools and even stores.

BEN JABO (MACHAL) ,   ISRAEL   (10.05.12)
He got a gun didn't he? Some people buy others steal, the end result is that he had a gun , by hook or by crook
71. This is what we get: a jewish killer
Yossef   (10.05.12)
My condolences to Armando Abed family. May Armando rest in peace. Amen.
72. Typical Super-Zionist american...
Wow! ,   Israel   (10.05.12)
...psyco-schizo. And it's not first time american in Israel killing innocent Arab!!! Perhaps he will get a posthumous prize from the Christian Evangelical Zionist Lunatic Association, and from the I-Hate- Obama -Am Israel Chai- Maniacs Institution.!!!
73. poor fool probably read 2 many TBs from the Sarah Bs
(10.05.12)
and then the poor thing went foaming mad from all the hatred he'd learned!
74. #73 and Sarah B
MR   (10.06.12)
Hey Sarah B! I don't know who you are but I know I like you! I don't recall such a feedback to anyone else's posts, including faking one's name so much. The lower those feedbacks get (like #73) the more I know why I like you. Shabbat Shalom.
75. I agree enough with Sarah B talk backs
David ,   Israel   (10.06.12)
She doesn't represent anything from Israel by her views It's a sad occurence an despite the harsh cultural differences of Israelis, it is no means an excuse to open fire on anybody! This stupid soul deserved his fate. Lotar Eilat deserves full credit to their professionalism from someone who has had the pleasure of seeing them train. Glad to know that no one else was killed or injured especially our precious soldiers
76. To: No. 73
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (10.06.12)
My, what substantive comments you have (NOT!) Grow a brain, you moron.
77. There is more to this
hippocrates ,   earth   (10.06.12)
78. #33: "toughness of this country" - largely synthetic
5th generation ,   Israel   (10.06.12)
There is an age-old expression that "Israel eats her citizens". Life is VERY easy here for criminals, both white collar and violent, and made bizarrely tougher than even rational for the best and brightest. Nearly every country has an element of evil in the social fabric, and this is ours.
79. Crazy world
A Pernat ,   Paris   (10.06.12)
He got fired for eating at the hotel cafeteria while still wearing his uniform, which is prohibited ? This is just crazy ! I am sorry for the victim, but crazy rules generate crazy responses. And we donĀ“t know how the perpetrator was treated. I think a proper handling and respectful social intercourse between employer and employe are essential to prevent such tragedies in some countries the whole staff have to attend a course to learn dealing with Interpersonal Conflicts.
80. Condolences to the family and friends of Armando Abed
Devorah   (10.06.12)
So very sorry this happened. May peace and comfort embrace you.
81. Mentally ill murderer
Chaim Ben Kahan ,   Efrat, Israel   (10.06.12)
Very tragic that this sick Jewish American man would murder innocent people and blemish Jews who come to study and work in Israel. My condolences to the families of the victims.
82. To Ellen, number 60
Chris ,   Dallas, America   (10.06.12)
Let me be clear. I've read where many in NYC blame others outside of NYC for violence that goes on in that city. That was why I suggested that denial is a big problem with this kind of violence in both NYC and America in general. And it has been reported in two sources that he came from NYC. Still, at the end of the day, the shooter is responsible, not America, not NYC, not Israel, not his ethnicity or faith, not his mother or father, not even the person with whom he had a quarrel. That is not the manner by which to resolve a personal issue. Ellen, the shooter is responsible for his fate and the fate of the dead. And the security forces handled it correctly, in my view. It's sad that a young man, age 24, went out the way he did. But he made his bed. A sad story that happens way too often in our world.
83. #22: I see that only money counts in your
Vardina   (10.06.12)
life. What does this have to do with the money Israel receives from USA? You probably keep reminding your wife or girl friend that she is not entitled to criticize you because you pay some of her expenses. I would not like to be your wife.....
84. Bibi to ask Obama for a "red line" on New Yorkers.
JD   (10.06.12)
With a Seinfeld cartoon of course!
85. Collision of cultural vengence. A shame.
Jake   (10.06.12)
I have seen Israeli over the top revenge as an American victim. It can leave one very upset wondering where justice lies and feeling really helpless. Was he given a fair shake or was he pushed and pushed into a rage with a pure battle of egos. Getting fired in Israel is a one way ticket home and no-one will coddle the fallen. The restaurant business is a very closed tight-nit community in Israel. No one will likely hire you after you get fired. (The fait of most dreaming of a new life after Aliyah) Israel is no place for Americans that cannot manage emotion and rage. I can't help wonder if Israel "might" butted heads with the new American gamer mentality of revenge. We are not shooting zombies in the real world. Doubt anyone saw this coming but you can bet more will follow. Condolences to all involved.
86. Unstable
A ,   Israel   (10.06.12)
Unfortunately Israel can be the last resort for people who are also not very mentally stable . If they have not come here for idealistic reasons there are many who cannot make a life in their own country and were probably unstable there who feel Israel is the solution to their problems and try and make a life here.Unfortunately no one in Israel knows about this mental instability when the person comes to live here .
87. Metal Issues
Ilana ,   Israel   (10.06.12)
Israel is not the place for someone who obviously has some hidden mental health problem.Unfortunately this is not the first time this sort of thing has happened.Israel seems to attract these types of people.
88. THE POLICE SHOULD NOT HAVE KILLED THIS YOUNG JEW!!!
Tim ,   Lo   (10.06.12)
The Israeli police could have avoided killing this Jew who was only just upset I guess. He did not need nor deserve to be killed, no matter his behavior. It is the same behavior in Israel than in the US where the police thinks that they have a license to kill!!!
89. the shooter shoul be left alive to justice
mireiam ,   israel   (10.06.12)
the bigest forces avelable in eilat were there. they could leave him alive. if it would be your boy,you would protes now and ask for justes please post it you know iam right

Oh, dear! Were you one of the cretins on the overpass threatening to jump? Well, you can always go back there when no one's watching. What's stopping you? For the record -- I have every right to express my opinion. Even when it does not agree with yours.
