If Israel were to back out of the talks now because of the EU ban and the Palestinians were to remain in the talks despite the so called illegal settlement building it would upset and infuriate the whole international community. They would say hey Israel youre building these illegal settlements and the Palestinians are still willing to talk peace but now you want to back out due to the EU ban? If Palestine backs now its because Israel refuses to stop building Settlements. The whole world is telling Israel to stop and they are being defiant. Either way Israel faces a slew of International isolation. #1. Palestine might get full recognition at the UN for a member state state. #2. The EU ban will remain in place #3. The PA will take Israel to the world court for war crimes. #4. The UN might dish out sanctions. Who knows what else? War? PA unites with Hamas! More rockets fired into Israel.

They came about when Jordan attacked Israel in 1967 (when this was land, illegally stolen from the Jews by the Brits and given to the Arabs in 1923). If the Jordanians wouldn't have attacked Israel, this whole area would still have been under Jordanian occupation, there would not be any ''discussion about a Palestinian state (because Jordan was/is Palestine) and Jews wouldn't even have the right to step into these old Jewish lands & heritage Because Jordan lost the annihilation war they started, Israel reclaimed what was hers for thousands of years and started building houses for Jews.

They keep repeating that the "settlements" are "illegal", but they never mention according to which law they are. The reason is simple, they don't know which law they could use. Annexing land won in a war is not and never was illegal, as Hawaii-born President Obama can confirm and as any Russian in Kaliningrad can swear. The simple fact of the matter is that the only thing the Palestinians have to offer is peace and they already owed Israel peace ever since before the war began. They have nothing to give but expect to get a lot. If the world decides to punish Israel because Israel violated a law; a law that exists written somewhere and that other countries are also punished for violating, then I'm game. But if the world decides to punish Israel because Israel does not do what the world wants, I'll stand with the "settlers". Whenever the world wanted something and the Jews, any Jews, just submitted to others' will, Jews (and ultimately the whole world) suffered for it. If John Kerry is convinced that settling land won in a war is illegal, he can clean up the American mess in Hawaii first. No Israeli will try to stop him. What we do is to send them in airplanes or buses or whatever. They are Jordanian citizens, courtesy of Jordan's 1954 Citizenship Law. They aren't being deported. They are being repatriated. Major legal difference.
