Qassam hits western Negev; none injured

Palestinian gunmen fire rocket from Gaza shortly after Benny Gantz sworn in as new IDF chief

A Qassam rocket exploded around noon Monday in an open area in the Eshkol Regional Council in the western Negev. There were no reports of injuries or damage.

This was likely the Gaza terror organizations' way to signal to new Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Benny Gantz that they have no plans to give him "an easy life".

The Gaza fire resumed Monday after several days of relative calm. Last Tuesday, four mortar shells hit the Shaar Hanegev Regional Council, damaging a car and a hose.

Several hours later, the Israel Air Force bombed two targets in the northern Strip. Medical sources in Gaza said eight people were lightly injured in the strikes.
